Folks,

As per my thread here, there seems to be enough interest to warrant a group buy on PIAA bulbs. At the moment we are looking at the following bulbs:

DRL H367 in Chrome Mirror range - bulbs now available: £17.63 a pair

Side H353 again in Chrome Mirror range - the standard W5W fitment. Price before discount and delivery charges is £13.79 a pair

Indicators H347 in Mirror Orange range - standard fitment for indicators, but without the nasty orange look. Price before discount and delivery charge is £26.46 a pair

Side Repeaters not available at PIAA (ebay will do for these)

Are the DRL bulbs a direct replacement for the normal 21w bulb used in the Bi-Xenon headlamps. Cannot see anything about them on the PIAA website.

Yes Dave ,there next to the Xenon bulb, most of us changed the Std bulbs for a more " white bulb to match the Xenon " direct fit ten min job if you don't have hands like shovels , they looked great when on , but when off there was a blue tint which looked a bit nasty !

There's bulbs are the new style one that still shine white , but look clear when off.

Don't want to throw a spanner in the works, but for the regular indicators, I can HIGHLY recommend Philips SilverVision, and they are only about a tenner on eBay for a pair.

PS Is the mirror PIAA DRL the 21W or 27W version?

I've already got the PIAA DRL/side which produce "whiter" light when on but have a blueish tinge when off.
Just to clarify - these DRL/side won't have that blueish colour when off?

Were looking into that mate , they " shouldn't " look blue-ish as they have a crome tip we will have to see, if there not better than the ones i already have i don't want then either.

I've got those and agree with you, they do the job nicely.

The PIAA DRLs are the 27w version.

As P says - hopefully they will not have the blue tint. I've got a set reserved for me (the only set in the country at the moment according to PIAA in the UK) which I'm going to claim on Monday, so will hopefully have some pics for you gentlemen so you can see what you'll be getting :)

Mmmm, spanner thrown. I may opt for the silvervision indicators as they are still half the price of the PIAA items with 20% off. I'll wait and see what the final costs will be with postage.
 
No probs John - wouldn't blame you to be honest - they are only indictor bulbs after all and £26 is a tad steep!
 
Sorry about the spanner, but just thought that it would be a helpful one!

Might be interested in some PIAA DRLs if they are white(er) when on and clear/silver when off! :yes:

I may do the same given the price difference - is that going to cause any problems???

No, wont cause any probs -we're still at interested stage, so dont worry about changing your mind at this stage.

You'll need these (py21w 382 fitting)

Gonna go the whole hog and do the H1s and 2 sets of H7s. RedButcher, can you work out the cost and update my value?

My brother fitted a set of the silvervisions today and the look fine. Might be better option at half the price of the PIAA Crome Oranges. Will probably do my fronts and rears with these and maybe the side repeaters too.

Cheers! Looks a but steep, but with the 20% it comes back to 173 and a bit. With the strength of the euro at the minute the pre-discount number will be the same as the post discount euro number (i.e. €212.83).
 
Just spoken to the lad at PRI Racing , and at this moment he can't give us a 100% RRP price for him to work out discount.

Tha one sample set that he's got for Red is £14.42 inc VAT , the 1st batch of bulbs should be here 1st week of June and he'll then know 100% what the RRP is and then be able to work a discount out from that.

He did say the RRP should be the same/near enough the sample set.

interested in some drl`s as long as they are silver when off. :thumbsup:
 
Ok gents - well the sample bulbs are on their way to me - I've got a set of the Chrome Mirror White DRLs and a set of the Chrome Mirror Side bulbs coming to me.

As P says, PRI are expecting the first delivery from Japan in the first week of June. As soon as they are arrive we should be able to get a discounted price firmed up.

Can I ask a question. Ive just ignored the sides as I dont see a problem with the ones on the car now, but looking on here every ****** is going for them :p

What are the differences??
 
If you've got the stock side, the light will be more yellow than white. The new bulbs will be a whiter light, but without the blue tint that is normally associated with bulbs giving off a whiter light.

Once I've got mine fitted, I'll take some pics so you can see the difference.
 
Also, when your lights are on the whiter side light swill complement the xenons!!
 
Bulbs are here (DRL and sides in Chrome Mirror range) - been away with work, so will get round to fitting them tomorrow along with some pics.

Initial impressions - well, they are no way near as blue as the other bulbs - there is a subtle light blue tint to the bulbs, but it is not 'in your face'.

The test will be when they are fitted - will they be as blue as the old bulbs?
