Right, if one were organised, who would be up for it?? It would be London/Surry/Sussex area. A rough idea of yes's would be helpful, and then I'll make some calls :)
 
I'd be interested - but hoping to get befores and afters when I get the 'hammer' added!

I may pop along with an Ed30...... Not sure if I'll stick in on the rollers as it's DSG. But would be good meet some of you chaps!
 
My mates ED30 is DSG and he's running an oettinger map, but they are always funny on the rollers

I got a reply from Kim Colllins at QST, and he wants £60 per run for 10 vehicles:faint:, thel ast time I went to a rolling road day, at the old AMD in Bicester , a couple of years ago, it was £25 per car - Was that too cheap or is this new one too expensive - How much have others paid recently on a RR day??
 
I would be up for it as I live in London just to see how good my standard S3 is... but £60 quid seems too much for that...

Yeah he did say it was normally £90, but on a RR day all they are doing is strapping the car down and doing one maybe two runs - 20 mins max start to finish, thats £180 per hour - what does he think he is a fuc$in plumber or something:asskicking:
 
The Northern one was £35 per person for two runs each. Now I know we're backward barbarians up here but £60 is some hefty uplift just for being Southerners. Why not hold your Southern Rolling Road in Manchester ?- would still cost £60 per person incuding fuel !:blush:
 
I've spoken to Regal Autosport recently and I think they quoted me £48 for dyno runs.
So, if we can get 10 or more cars together there maybe a discount to be had.
May even get a discounted group buy on GIAC maps!

Ha ha ha, yeah I'm happy to speak to them mate, as I've had a chat with them about getting GIAC on mine and getting before and afters done on the RR.
I'll drop them a line tomorrow.

Maybe worth trying Thorney Motorsport in Milton Keynes, recently done the Evo mag dyno runs (incl. a recent Ferrari 430 Scuderia) and are totally impartial, not selling any Audi tuning products etc. and supposed to be very accurate.

I have no links with them except they have done some work on my M3 CSL and know they are professional with great facilities and lots of parking room.

Right - update on this:

I'll contact Thorney Motorsport tomorrow - I guess my concern is, I'm keen to get a map where ever we end up, so pretty keen to make sure we end up some where that supports the maps people are interested in.

I've got a quote from AMD that seems very reasonable and they offer AMD maps and Revo maps with discounts on the day.
I'm waiting on a quote from Regal Autosport who do GIAC maps - however the 2 decision makers are actually out at GIAC in the states right now, so can not pull a quote and offers together until they return.

I'll post details of all options when I have them all and we can make a decision then.

Right so we've definately got enough people, for a RR day, and MK isnt too far for me(2hrs or so), in fact my brother in law lives up there so it would be a good day out for the family. And Mk is a bit more central, so hopefully attracting more cars??

MK maybe more central - but they can't offer what everyone is after. :shrug:
We have 3 people hoping to get maps on the day and see the gains for themselves. I for one woudl definately like to see my car standard and re-mapped.

AMD are offering £35 a car, BBQ, tea and coffee with a minimum of 15 cars.
Also offering Revo at £499 + VAt with free Select (usually £150) or half price Select PLUS (usually £250).
Of AMD maps (non switchable) at 20% off £499 + VAT.

As mentioned above, I'm keen to hear back from Regal Autosport as I had been talking to them about RR'ing my car and GIAC before this thread started.

The Thorney guys are BMW and Vauxhall specialists....

I guess it depends what everyone is wanting out of the day??????

Hi

Just to clarify the AmD map is £399.95inc vat for 210bhp S3/A3 1.8T, £449.94INC for 225bhp S3 and £499.95inc vat for 2.0TFSi S3.

All these prices will be less 20% on the day.

And you will get 10% of any other purchases on the day and free fitting on Milltek.

Price I'd been quoted previously for GIAC remap (310 or Hammer etc) was £619 including the stock map and flashloader. A bit of a discount on that and I'd be tempted.

I believe when the head honcho's at Regal get back from the states they will be pulling toegther a package that will certainly offer dicount on the GIAC map. I'm sure we won't be dissapointed!

I'll keep you posted when I hear back from them next week.

I don't mind where we go, as long as it's under two hours away and we're looked after??? A complete independant would be good, as we would get a truely independant view, but I do understand that some want re-map's, and it would be good to get some comparitive figure's on the day - before and after

AMD or Regal are a walk in the park for you then dude!
I'm West London and both are pretty easy for me too!
Looking forward to this when we sort it out!
