ZF advised me not to do mine at 105k approx. They said that it was strange advise but they had wrecked gearboxes changing the oil late.
Something about the platelets in the oil then the gearbox relearning the gear changes after the oil change can cause more damage than good.
So I decided not...
I changed the sensor thats down the front of the engine and the fault cleared. I believe it is twinned with one on top somewhere in the middle of the v . I will try and find the part number. Thought I had posted it but must have forgotten
oh and I`m on 20 inch and run Uniroyal rain sports get about 20k to a set front wear is slightly more than rear but its close enough to change them all at once.
Keep the mk4 R32 lol my mate regrets selling his.
I came from an 2002 S3 to the A6 BiTDI as we needed a family car and so my car had to go.
The bitdi offers good performance and reasonable economy (early 30 mpg and 40+ on a long run)
Its a totally different drive to the Mark 4 chassis but...
I think you get all those when an abs sensor goes down.
I've had 2 go in 5 years and the first time it looks like everything is broken.
A quick scan with vcds should show if its an abs sensor
I don't trust helicoils. Ok for a one off repair but not for a part that needs undoing every couple of years.
A die insert might work but that means removing more material and cant risk the carrier breaking under load.
I've taken the plunge and purchased new. Thanks for the replies but as...
Ok so went to change the front pin guide bush on the drivers side brake caliper.
Unbolted the pins and something didn't feel right. The ****** things stripped the threads .
Has anyone had to change a front brake carrier before. If so who's the best to get one off.
I hope its not stealers only
Maybe just not sure which obd11 units are any good. Vcds is 225 quid for 3 licence. I used to share a genuine unit but my mate sold it. The fake wire has done its job so far but something has done it in.
Still shows fault codes just won't wind calipers back or reset service indicator .
ok so I had a cheap VCDS lead just for doing the rear pads , It has worked for the last 2 changes but not it won`t connect to that module. I haven`t updated it but its knows its not real now
What do people use to change the pads ??? I might have to invest in VCDS but the license thing is...
Iphone don`t do RSAP neither do dual sim android phones, I use mine mainly for traffic updates but also have either waze or google on at the same time :)
I had an injector problem as one failed so audi changed it foc. Then the car started juddering when acc 2-3k revs.
Was ok in sport mode , audi tested it again and said injectors passed their log values
Log story short had to change all the injectors as one new and 5 old didn`t mix well
I saw mine wobbling. Super glued it back on but only lasted a year.
Last time I used some glass adhesive I had left over from a DIY job.
Been OK since but doesn't clear quiet as quick as the passenger side. My car is a 2012
