i think you can perform a test to decide if the N75 is shot, unplugging it maybe? Or i'm sure VCDS will tell you also.

Turns out I had a faulty N75 valve, it's not only cured the problem I had with the surging but the boost now holds much better and more consistently through the revs....great little fix that one!

Mine both do it, I found the cure is to raise the bolster height slightly from the bottom, as the creaking only happens when the seat is done at it's lowest point on mine. My current annoyance is the glovebox and door cards creaking and rattling....drives me insane!
