RS3 Colour Question
Gents,

Just want some quick feedback. RS3 is on order but debating the choice of colour now having seen some pics of the press car. I ordered Daytona Grey which on the test car doesnt look all that great and i dont think the RS3 can pull that colour off like the TTRS or RS4.

My second option was Ibis White with Black Pack.

Have i made the wrong choice in getting grey?

A guy round my way has camouflaged his Boxter in white and Grey with sharks teeth on the wings and eyes on the bonnet......that looks good !:)

Sepang ftw it's a simple choice :eyebrows: but grey is very nice all the same mate

LOL ben
I am always in a great mood, life is great....well mine is :)

Its just that i think the op should really choose the colour he wants regardless of what other people think..I mean i have a white kitchen and i don't care what anyone on the Ikea web site thinks :) :) If i was spending £45k+ i think i might just have decided on a colour before i ordered it....lol

depends on what you're willing to spend. my top choice colours for the RS3 would be:

1. Sepang Blue (exclusive paint colour)
2. Monza Silver (exclusive paint colour)
3. Phantom Black (optional extra)

lmao paddy, might have been a good idea ay!

Suzuka with dark grey or black rims. seen a rs6 in stafford audi with these colours it looked menacing! great purchase btw :yum:

Good to hear fella, wasnt saying you were moody just seemed alot more up beat :)
Agree at the end of the day he going to drive the car so he should pick the colour he happy with.
Lmao glad your happy with your white kitchen :)

You would have thought so, but it was a spur of the moment decision so not a lot of planning went into it - i only went to enquire LOL!
Secondly the fact they dont even have any cars in the flesh makes the job a little more difficult. The TTRS is able to pull all colours off well due to its curves but the RS3 not so much.

Lol the emotions took over haha! That would make it difficult sure some one can just photoshop and RS3 a different colour
for you :) you will have to put some photos up when you get it

Thanks Benskin. Think will change to Suzuka grey as can't seem to decide between white or grey. Might as well go in the middle!
Will put picks up once it arrives.

I think that Suzuka grey would be my choice

Oh .....and Hotrod, thanks for taking my posts as the fun they were intended

Are there any colours that you can only get on RS3? If so, I would get one those.

Dave

I would stick with Daytona Grey... I thought it looked good in the press shots I saw online.

I hear what your saying cruiser, but the problem was it didnt live up to expectation when i then saw the press shots. Looked a bit boring from most angles but then again maybe thats just the shape of the sportback. I currently have a 3DR S3 and obviously prefer this shape. Im not sure what i was expecting with Daytona Grey, but it looks much better on the TTRS and RS6. And more to the point i can't justify paying over 1700 quid for an exclusive colour as an alternative especially if i could get Ibis White as a no cost option.

Anyway the order has been changed now to Suzuka Grey. I went to Audi this morning and they had two cars (TTRS and S5) in this colour so i've now opted to this - Couldnt decide between Daytona or Ibis so thought this was neutral ground!

Thanks for the help lads!

Have a look at this poll (hope that's worked).

I orignally chose Suzuka Grey for the RS3, but changed my mind after a chat with a car dealer mate and then seeing it in the flesh. Looks great in a showroom, but on an overcast day (which is common in Aberdeen) it looked very dull - like it had just been primed for painting. From reading this thread it sounds like loads of people like it and a good choice.

I'm now waiting for phantom black with black styling pack and privacy glass :ninja:.

I think it'll be a great car whatever the colour is.

Will the final version have fog lights in those mahoosive front lower air intakes?

Hi Greg, the dealer was saying exactly the same but i am suprised that as Audi are only bringing 500 cars to the UK, they didnt have a couple of exclusive colours, hence to signify the seperation from a normal sportback. I think the thing with Suzuka grey is that its looks white on the eye, but can also contrast between Grey and Bluey/Purple depending on the light. Its a shame they didnt make more colours available but then thats Audi.

You can spec whatever colour you want from the Audi Rainbow but it will cost you £2450. What spec you gone for Fella - I've cancelled my order as I'm not willing to pay £11k extra to get decent seats and a few electrical gizmo's - sorry to put a downer on this but I'll wait 'till some muppet wants to sell their's for a premium, laugh at them for paying full Audi ripoff price and buy one for a reasonable price with only a few 'run in' miles on the clock.

yep think you put a downer on it :sadlike:

hotrod99 good luck with the purchase, for me i'm well jealous, nothing better than the smell of new motor. well other than new trainers!!!! :yum:

No it won't... Current RS models don't have front fog lights. They are actual functional air intakes for the intercoolers.

I love daytona grey, especially as theres not many A3's (none?) going around in that colour so even although the colour itself doesn't scream out at you the way that Ibis, Suzuka, or even Sprint blue on the S3 does I think it's quite clear the car is something a bit special.

Seen a few TT-RS's in this colour and they look great on the road but really underwhelming in pictures.

It is dificult to order a colour for a car without seeing it in the flesh though I suppose.

Thanks for the downer ABS! LOL! I can't see anyone paying 2.5K for paint unless they really have cash to burn! For me i would have bought the RS3 from the get-go had it been available, but ended up buying the S3 instead. S3 is a great car but for me personally the S3 is still missing something even though mine is remapped. For me the RS3 will now match the acceleration of Evo's etc. and that lifts it up a few ranks in my books. The S3 has and will never be this capable unless you spend some serious dosh modding it. Again this is a debatable topic, but the question being how much money would i need to spend on an S3 to deliver the same power and have that power delivered in the same fashion as an RS3?? Like i say this could be debated by many and would be an endless topic of conversation.

My current S3 is loaded with buckets, Nav etc. and is phantom black with black styling. This was originally a showroom car so it was packed with toys. As my last three cars have been black and previous to that grey, i thought it was time for something different. So lets see how Suzuka grey pans out. Will post picks when it arrives.

Due to limited numbers i still think you'll pay a premium to pick one up second hand (again just my opinion).

Hot rod your a lucky man :)

I think I would have stuck with daytona as I think it looks really classy and depending how long your going to keep it would be easier to live with.

At the end of the day it's you car and your choice :)

Have you gone for the buckets?

Chris

Thanks ctr! I thought the same about grey until i saw the press shots. TTRS pulls this colour off well in my mind. A3/S3 doesnt have the slick lines in my opinion to be able to do the same.

Got buckets at the moment but didnt order in the new one. Recent issues with my back (although now I'm ok) and put me off getting buckets. I sat in normal S3 seats and found these to be far more comfortable anyhow. I also had issues with passengers having great difficulty getting in and out of buckets which was another reason i didnt get them.

I also noticed that Suzuka is not available to order on the A3/S3 from the available paint pallet when you use the Audi Configurator?!

no Suzuka is a special you have to pay extra to have it on an A3/S3
