Hey guys going to collect my car at half 4 today as the ecu has arrived back and has been installed back in to my car!

Looking forward to seeing and feeling the difference over standard.

i also go the SPS switch to swap it over in case the other half takes it out haHawaii will let you guys know how it is.

Is the SPS switch a controller that plugs into the OBD port if so i wasnt aware that was available very interesting

lets us know how the car feels with the map once your finished enjoying it

hey guys

i know a lot of you will be wanting to know what the difference is with remap.

all I can say just now is amazing!

the car pulls so much smoother and quicker through the rev range and the power is just on tap, it just continues until either you run out of road or you up the rear of a van before you know it ( I know trust me)

my map is not fully set up correctly due to my own fault when I was dropping the car off I was coming back from Edinburgh had to nip into a garage and fill up with some fuel and only garage was a bo so just put £30 in in case the boys had to drive it etc.

i should have just filled up with shell v power as I need that fuel to finalise the remap. So I'm back in on Friday for a couple of runs with the revo dealer and he will fine tune everything and get the map the right way. But only having the map about 70% right I scared to see how it will act on Friday!

I love the fact my car also sounds like that first video!

Is it up fully to 410 now then with the lower grade fuel ? Or is there more to come?

I'd heard it could be as much as 420bhp with a map and the 2nd cats.

its not turned up fully yet. By Friday it will be though. There a rolling road day being organised I put my name down for that cause I would like to see what it kicking out! By the end off it.

if you can deal with your car being off the road for 3 days as ecu needs to b sent away then go with it I'm happy with my results so far just bring on Friday.

i would also recommend glasgow revo!

My big issue is i dont really want my ECU removing and breaking seals etc, I'd much prefer the old OBD port flash as its easier to use the SPS for valet mode or simular come service/warranty work time. Maybe they'll be able to provide this by the time i'm upto remap time.

the SPS works like this as I'm aware of:

they can set it up 3 ways-

stock
performance a ( motorway, long distance driving where u don't need fuel power all the time)
a performance b( emergency where u need to put say Tesco fuel in the car)
performance c ( any setting u want)
anti theft( if u go away on holiday, put this on means they can steal your car as it disables the ecu. )
anti theft off ( turns it off)
firmware update

There isn't a seal on ecu it too cables that hold it in place and they are replaced by the dealer when the ecu is returned.

i spoke to revo, and they have told me if anything was to happen to the car, I have to take the car back to my revo dealer, they will send the ecu back to revo hq and they will wipe and put ecu back the way it is before I put it into audi for any warranty work. The dealer will only be looking for the remap if they are really looking for it. Just use SPS when it's in and the engineer takes it out a drive they have no way of telling if it has been done or not from driving it!

im tempted to go milltek but I don't want to make too much of a difference to it when I use it as a daily driver on motorway so might just go with mtm wheels next year!

Will they put it back to stock for free and also reinstall the map for free?

Problem is if you broke down and had to get the car recovered you'd be unable to sort the ECU but i do see what your saying.

Personally unless the Milltek is or can be as stealth as the car is now i'd not be looking at it as an option. I dont want the loud exhausts ive become a custom too over the years. The 2nd cat Milltek is the perfect compromise in my eyes, plus helps a bit when mapping.

Ha nice vids Mate! Sounding good!

milltek exhausts have a high iron content so corrode. Id recommend the scorpion setup.

Well I've been out with the guy from revo as I wasn't running shell v power and could feel a massive difference in the power dropping. It turned out the ecu had went into safe mode. But after 6-8 runs from 30-110it is now running perfect the speed in which the car reaches so quickly and easy is amazing now! I can def see it hitting 0-60 in 3.7 secs now!

I thought Revo had sorted this problem, Interesting to hear another car goes into Safe after a map.

You need Dynolicious and an Iphone !!!! and post the results.

It wasn't anything to do with revo or map it was my fault due to having cheap fuel in it that caused it to go into that mode. But since that's all been correctly its a flying machine now! Even though it was already!

That doesnt sound right at all. Lower fuel grade doesnt make the car drop into limp, it will just ****** timing and power will get subsequently pulled back 15-20hp.

but it pretty standard for them to check for a remap in warranty work cases, i have got to know the serivce guys pretty well at my dealership (having been in so many ****** times lol) and they warned me that they do check, even if its been wiped you can tell that its been flashed, there are companies that specialise in forensic analysis of ecus, vauxhall pretty much send every VXR ecu to be checked when a warranty issue arises

If it gets to the point of requesting Audi UK Technical for assistance it will be checked. If not it wont get necessarily checked for a remap.

I was once shown the ECU flash log on my Impreza by a friendly dealer tech - they knew the car was modified, it's almost impossible to hide in any case. The ECU showed the time and date of every map starting with the factory map, then the Prodrive PPP map, then one of several ECUTek maps - including the times maps were removed or overwritten by updates. There was an incredible amount of information, who did the map and where, fueling, temperatures, rpm limits etc. I'd imagine even if you did overwrite the map this information would all be there somewhere so there would be amy clues that the car had been mapped.

I'm all for enjoying modified cars if it's done properly and you tell your insurer and understand the risk you are taking on. In my experience somewhere down the line there are always big bills attached to modified cars.

Everyone got there view on remap you either do it or you don't. It a chance you take

I don't think it will ever be able to flash via the OBD port (thats the impression I got), It sounds like the area of the ECU that needs unlocking isn't available via the OBD port and thats why it needs unlocking to enable that.

I was told a dealer wouldn't have the capability to check if an ECU had been unlocked and they had the same OBD port restrictions, unless of course the the ECU is removed and tested on the bench but I very much doubt every dealer has that type of equipment.

At the end of the day the dealers want warranty work as they get paid by Audi UK to carry out the work. I agree if you blow an engine and its the fault of the map then they will try and get out of it.

Just a thought (I might be talking crap), can you buy another ECU and use that? Then swop back to the original for dealer work.
