Cars coming off the road next month for rebuild so thinking should i go with a k03's hybrid or the k04? What will i get the better power out of?

Done properly, the ko4 will make more power I would think, but the ko3 hybrid is a load easier.

Cost wise, the ko4 will be more expensive to do properly, but cheaper to do an average job....

What do you want to get from it?

Well had it rolling roaded today with k03's, turbo back exhaust, fmic, uprated tip, cold air induction kit and n75 bypass and it made 186bhp with 196lbft. So a little more then that :D

A k03s should make more than that, Im guessing you haven't had it mapped yet?

max k03s will make around 225
k04 will make around 300 more than that if you want to spend lots of money ( new rods )
k03s hybrid will make good power but will be on more boost pressure so higher egt's and less reliable pipes as the a3/s3 are starting to become old and boost pipes tend to split :)

I've thought about it alot and im going down the k04 conversion route just bout the turbo will be getting refurbed next week or too and then its on to fmic and injectors and tip.

hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, very low figures for a ko3S there dude, assuming you've got a st2 map on it as well?

Why have you got your N75 valve bypassed though? what's controlling your boost?

a healthy st2 ko3S with your spec should be making 220bhp or more, so something seems a miss!

Its still on stage 1 remap debaiting to get stage 2 map if im thinking of going to k04 or k03's hybrid. Manual boost controller is controling the boost because if it doesnt it will only run 4psi of boost.

Whooooooooooooooooaaaaaaaah!!!!

I'd stop right there mate!

Manual boost controller is a bad idea, they never work well on these engines.

if it'll only make 4psi on the N75, then you've got bigger problems. you need to find out WHY it's only making 4psi, something is very wrong there, and a turbo upgrade won't fix it.

I'd try to fix the problem before pointlessly upgrading anything!

Right mbc has come off now. Ill leave it running 4psi because it surely cant break nothing running that

Take a picture of your n75 with the pipes.... Post it up.... That way we can tell you it's piped up wrong :)

Cant upload onto this page but if you go on my profile there is a picture in the album start to finish. Black pipe at top goes to intercooler piping. Pipe with the braided wire round it goes to the actuator. Thanks

^^^^^^^ can I tell you now it's piped up wrong? :) Swap the braid one for the one into the TIP.

I have done that but now im back to the problem of the waste gate not opening when it gets to top of the boost making it splutter and hold back. Car is close to getting left in the garage and getting left lol

how do you know the wastegate isn't opening? are you getting massive boost spikes?

Recently had new icm. Fuel has not been uprated tho so like you say it could have something to do with that

Had it in audi specialist near me and they said that it wasnt opening. Got it to open and it solved the problem up to 14psi of boost. If i took it higher then that the problem came back

more boost than fuel.... lean misfire scenario

get it mapped if not mapped, dont mess with upping the boost alone, it wont end well or run right

Is this cable throttle or dbw car?

Booked my car into r-tech next week for a remap. Fingers crossed this gets rid of the problem

Also if its on a Saturday they won't do any mechanical worth either, just maps.as tuffty said, get it sorted first.any decent tuners,r tech,b5 for example won't map a care if it has currently running issues.

If you still wana take it to r tech.let them know of the problems first, then they car fix it before mapping

Yeah but like badger5 says sounds like more boost then fuel so if thats the case the remap will sort it wont it. Its in on a wednesday

Thought i would let you all know the problem is now solved. N75 was blowing fuse 37 in the fuse box. Tried new n75 still blowing fuses. Audi specialist told me something was wrong with wiring so he told me to cut the yellow and black live wire to n75 and wire a inline fuse to n75 live and ignition live so i did and now the boost problem is solved :) thanks for all your help
