I have set it to 800rpm and the vibration seems to have gone but i want to know what the standard idle rpm is so i can check if it vibrates now on that!

IIRC mine idles abit higher than that, nearer 900-950

just to run mine at 860 but just altered to 800 running fine

Running mine anywhere between 740-780 depending on what done to the car at that point. Anything above 810rpm seems to make things a bit 'lumpy'.

777 worked for me came from audi set at 840 but its become rough at that idle and injection quatity is very up and down so not sure if changing the idle down can mask injectors on the way out maybe

I noticed mine was juddering and rev needle was shifting at 800-840 ish due to egr boost hose not being fitted by mechanic properly but now idles at about 875 or very close to that

Put mine down to 800 for AGES and it ran great, but just had to INCREASE to 925rpm (can't seem to get it higher than that) as judder at idle returned :( ,
Probably due to cambelt stretching a bit, I will need new cambelt done before summer :(
I'm sure I heard timing should get checked 1/2 way through cambelt life cycle

Cambelt stretched ? How come has it been replaced before or would this be the first cambelt change?

mines just around 780, although when its cold its as high as 900!

They just stretch over time, my car will be going for 2nd cambelt before summer mileage is now at 121,600miles :(
will get done at 125000 ish miles

Oh right yh that sounds about right mate cambelt every 60K miles, are you running high power through the engine ?

I was sure my mkIV GOLF tdi was @ 50000 and when we bought the A3 a m8 of mine said timing belts should be 75000 or 5years, so I done it at 60000,
power figs were unknown as I used a powergate unit to change map and car drove great for 40000ish miles on std turbo, but after a problem with my hybrid turbo, map was switched back to standard :( so I can go down custom map route :) :)

So your running hybrid turbo ? What company did you use as ive ordered one from turbo dynamics stage 2, also what turbo have you got on thecar now ?, and the cambelt change is recommended every 75K but i changed mine at 60k aswel just after 5 years old

I have Audi A3 2.0 TDI, 8P, 2012 year. When I start the cold car it is around 800 rpm and then rises to around 1000 and sometimes stays there no matter it becomes warm. Also, when I give throttle it doesn't return to a starting position.
Is this normal?
