Next ASN Meet Krispy Kreme now

Right guys change the venue to Krispy Kreme but parking at the bottom of the retail car park same as before. Im still raging over this as the main man didnt even have the balls to inform me himself. He got his minion to do it who sounded as though he was ready to cry when I replied ' You having a laugh'. Change of venue is fine as Im not approaching them again for a meet this year. If anyone else wants to take over the mantle and organise one @ Audi then please feel free...... be my guest.

Need opinions on KK then with parking opposite as you'll never get us all in there.

My personal preference would be to not go to Krispy Kreme. I thought the ASN guys would have a bit more originality. I don't think we will be able to park all together there or have many pic opportunities. Plus there will be flocks of other people around about with sticky fingers haha! Edinburgh folk.. Now is your time to step up and think of a better venue. However if this is where we choose to go then ill still be happy regardless.

Mate you didnt read the OP that I amended. We dont go anywhere near the KK carpark. We park opposite in the Hermiston Gate Retail carpark. We had a meet there last year and there is oodles of space and everyone enjoyed it so we know its a good place to park. If anyone gets the munchies like we did last time then we stroll over to KFC and then KK.

I guess this means we're not getting the surprise Edinburgh Audi ws talking about, or was the lack of space the surprise? Krispy Kreme is good for me, gives me another reason to nip down and see everyone.

Now that Edinburgh Audi meet is off what was the surprise? I'm still not sure whether I'll make this one due to work so I'll say the week leading up to it.

The surprise was hopefully the R8 V10 and the new RS6 Avant out the front for a wee test drive in. But thats all dead in the water now......and the problem is they have too many cars so cannot relocate them to accomodate us in the space that we need.......seeing as they did it last year I think this is just a smoke screen.

Not very good PR on Audi Edinburgh to say the least...I would of thought that they would be glad to have all these stunning cars on the forecourt and made this happen...shot themselves in the foot more like...comes across as a bit shoddy as Mark says they had someone junior breaking the bad news...their loss however...Can't see them being asked again in the near future:sadlike:
Nick.

The annoying part is it was 99.9% approved 2 days beforehand. So thats why the date and time were released. When the phone call came thro from the monkey and not the organ grinder I was kind of mad. So much for "There will be no problems from Audi if you have dealer meets" :jester:- I do believe they have blown it big time.:gun2:

this is heartbreaking :( I wasnt too far off when I said a test drive in a car of our choice! I am disappointed with Audi Edinburgh, not even mad. Looking forward to the new meet venue regardless if there is a KFC in our proximity

Probably a bit of a shot in the foot for the folks at Edin Audi - woulda been a good PR event from their point of view also I'd imagine.

Wouldnt burn bridges with them over it though, I still quite like the idea of a dealer meet at some point.

Glad that the meeting is still going ahead for you all in some shape or form though :)

edinburgh audi am afraid are to far up their own a@@, I would rather stand in Hermy gate than have my car in there tbh from what i have seen they are no flagship dealer.

Keith they were spot on with last years meet I organised. It went ahead with all spaces out the front of the building empty and reserved for us. This year has been an utter ball ache from start to finish......trying to get a reply in the timescales and being ignored when you ask to be phoned back.....ignorance in my book. It doesnt take 2 mins of anyones time to pick the phone up and say yes or no. Oh well Hermiston Gait carpark it is then.

I actually find them quite hard ot get on the phone regardless of the query - took me about 5 attempts to get through to the parts dept last week!

i might show at this but not 100% sure yet shame audi edinburgh fell through tho :( i`d like to sit in the r8 :(

Turns out they need full cover while they wrap up this job, so could be here an extra 10 days after I was meant to be off on the 18th. If I get home on the 27th, I'll be down, if it's the 28th I'll be back too late.

I've let the TT mob know of the changes so we will see who will still be able to come along. I should be there but only for an hour-ish

if any of you guys want to convoy up from Glasgow again give me a shout and we will make plans

I will be at this one! anyone heading down from aberdeen-ish?

I will be, but I'm going to driftland first so could either join our convoy until Fife and then carry on yourself, or I'm sure Reg will be heading down too. Maybe fire him a pm to check plans.

edit - Sorry Jimmy, was getting you confused with Bob (missile)... I knew someone had a red TT up here.

I'm planning to be there but will be easier for me to go cross country....more likely on my own :sadlike:

There are around 5 folks from the TTOC possibly attending a few coming up from down south for it so should hopefully be a good turnout.

Jimmy you're better on your own...I've seen the way you drive :scared2:haha

Think me and my son Connor will pop along in the S8, hope the weather stays dry :sm4:

Weather on the '7' day forecast is looking good so far! (Touch-wood) cloudy but dry max 15·c

David, drop in before you head off mate and we can drive over in convoy. Say about 11:15 at mine.

Mark, drop me your address/postcode and if I can make it in time I'll head to yours, failing that I'll meet you at the venue. Planning to come over in the A3 for a change

cheers
Jimmy

Why am I always the last to get the car done before a meet. Mine will be done Saturday morning so it better be dry.

Does that still apply if I don't get the car done? It was washed after the service on Monday but it's been rained on since so not the cleanest.

I think im pulling out of this one, reluctantly. Having issues at home that need dealing with this weekend

Right then guys. Cheers to everyone that made the effort to pitch up at todays KK meet. Cheers to all those aswell that gave their apologies and the usual suspects that didn't...lol. Great weather we had for the meet and it was to nice to catch up with a few I haven't seen for a while and a few new faces too. The S3 managed to get a wash this morning and was minted up to the point where myself and Jimmf made the 20 mile trip to the venue. The mobile Detailing Barn was open as usual but we did have an altercation with carpark security who thought they would try and threaten us with removal because the meet hadnt been arranged through the proper channels.....................and in a public carpark too (a quick 'get your boss on the phone' saw the last of him) CHOPPER!!!!!!

Im just in the process of editing the pics so they will be uploaded onto the photo section as normal when ready......enjoy.
