There are lots of user names out there and sometimes I sit and wonder why.

Mine is: 45BVTC

After 41-years of Lotus ownership then for me 45BVTC is easily broken into '45' and 'BVTC'

45:
A 1970 Lotus Elan S4 1968/1973 drophead/convertible designated as a Lotus Type 45.

Lotus made 2400 units, maybe; Lotus weren't good at keeping records...

Mine was a 1970/1 Lotus Elan Sprint drophead with the chassis/body plate as shown:

Chassisplate_zps3979a609.jpg

BVTC: this refers to a 1558cc Big Valve Twin Cam; and ALL Lotus Elan Sprint, Lotus Elan Plus 2 S/130, and Lotus Europa Specials, were fitted with this Big Valve Twin Cam engine (a 1558cc Ford 5-bearing bock with a Harry Mundy designed Twin Cam cylinder head, and... Ooops, sorry, sorry...) :lmfao:

So now you, you've Christmas and New Year 2013/14 to elaborate, why not…

Who ARE you? :hi:

Mine is PetrolDave - easy really my name is Dave and I love anything to do with petrol engines!

P.S. Used to work at Lotus, spent several years there as Electronics Manager. Loved the products and the "of course it can be done" attitude but hated the boom and bust way the business was (and still is) run.

DAYTONA500 I've got a RS3 which at first 500 were allocated to come to the UK [they sold out in days so Audi decided to add another 250] and the colour is Daytona Grey. Also the Daytona 500 is a famous car race.

MBK = Milky Bar Kid a squadron nickname from many years ago. If that needs further explanation strawberry blonde hair, glasses, cheeky charm and boyish good looks should give you another clue. I joined up very young and was described by someone looking for me at the RAF St Athan Air Show as as "you know, that officer who's nicked his dad's hat and uniform". Now with the forces being as they are with a superb sense of wit and humour it didn't take long for the nickname to become a rumour that I had actually been the Milky Bar Kid. By the time I was an instructor each new course would soon be asking "is it true you were the Milky Bar Kid?", I found no response and letting them wonder was the best response. To this day there are still people I trained who ask if it's true!

Anyway I'm glad MBK stuck because the other alternative was worse. I was once a squadron adjutant and my predecessor had been rather fat. As a result his nickname was FADJ - short for Fat Adj. By this time I still looked very young. To give you an idea how young I looked I once found a set of order I'd signed during the Gulf conflict with "aged 3 1/2" crayoned under my name. So my user name could easily be VADJ - or very young adj. I'm glad to say it isn't.

Another mundane answer - DBM is my initials and since 'DM' has a technical meaning at work I use my middle initial for clarity.

Have wondered about changing it now as my knowledge is a bit better, someties I can even answer some questions nowodays. Don't know what to change it to though, suggestons welcome :)

Also surely one of the very best arcade machines ever made! They still have this on Llandudno Pier and I still play it each time I visit.

Spartan was the name given to one of the family of CVRT vehicle's used by the RAF Regiment in the 80,s/early 90's of which I used to be a member of and have spent some time being thrown round in the back of in basic training.91 are 2 numbers from my service number.I also named my cat Spartan.

Obvious really, but maybe should be co-passenger, because when I accept the offer to pilot the beast he goes very pale.

Was this post strategically targeted towards me.....as sitting here in my pink catsuit I sometimes get paranoid ;-)Isn't mine obvious......elton121272 = it's simply my first name followed by the number of times I was asked the question all you guys think when you hear the name "Elton" but are far too respectful to ask when I joined this forum. So I suppose my Q to all you guys is "what was that question you thought when you read my username and thought a guy called Elton in a black RS3 with buckets?" - and I know it wasn't does he wear Matt black spectacles ;-)I suppose the answer is in my reg plate.......?

It's the sporran, kilt, dirk, and lack of breeks Elton.

Nobody south of Dumfries is worried about the pink catsuit - we ALL wear trousers

But dream of morning rolls, scotch pies, double nougate and pokey hat icecreams, and fish suppers (haddie and chips) at 11am ...

'kwistof'

So this is my username across other forums but originally derived from my PSN name a few years ago.

My names Christopher and I have a slight 'Jonathan Woss' problem, in a way that I am sometimes unable to roll my Rs. So it would sounds like I would be saying Kwis....not Chris, if I was to introduce myself to you.

The second part of my username, 'tof' has been with me since early teens, where I would only ever wear designer labels and subsequently I was labelled a toff by many of my close mates due to the expensive garments I wore and purchased.

So with 'tof' being the syllable of my full name, and Kwis being the first - I basically combined the two, which I've found is pretty unique across forums/usernames - so think I'll be sticking to this for a while :) (even though everyone on Playstation, upon first encounter immediately assumes I'm French! lol)

Just to add: There's no way I would be able to get my 'tof' nickname now....not since I've been driving an Audi....the past 6 years the majority of my 'spare' cash goes on my vehicles appearance :racer: and not on topping up the designer wardrobe! lol

Ben/Mark,
I have some better memories of Daytona:-

Daytona Race Track 18banner

Daytona Race Track 2

Daytona Race Track 5

Daytona Race Track 16cropped

And finally

Daytona Race Track 12censored

Oh and just for the record, no this is not the wife. This was a total stranger who was happily posing for her friend to take topless photos at the top of the stand. Me been helpfull i suggested she should go down the stand so the track would be the back drop. She gladly obliged and let me also capture this shot
I censored this so that it would be suitable for posting. Uncensored version available by request :icon_thumright:

Ps, the caption above her on the fence, was a total accident........honest!!!

Love it Neil, the caption couldn't be better! Looks like a bouncy ride, the suspension is sagging a bit.

Did you take a ride? In the Nascar I mean I'd love a go in one of those but last time I looked into it the price was about £1500 for a day which was too steep back then.

Mine is a bit boring. I was struggling trying to think up of a username that wasn't just a nickname followed by numbers.
Rejected usernames were Arnie49 (used on other forums), Lankie (school nickname like Arnie taken from Surname), Garfield (after the U.S. cartoon cat & not the US President), or Jammy (due to when I used to play squash. One of two shots I played were more jammy than flukey or skilled!).
In the end I chose HullRs3, as at the time of purchasing my lovely RS3 my car was the ONLY Audi RS3 that Hull Audi have sold through their showroom. Even now I believe to this day they have not AFAIK sold another RS3, they have had a demonstrator from Lincoln before I got my car in which I had to test drive it.
So, now every time my car goes in, the Service Centre Staff (ladies) get excited when I bring her in. I think almost as excited as if it was an R8!
