Hi all,

I have a 2009 sline A4, i am wanting to change the rear standard lights to LED lights .. Is this easily done, I seem to remember reading that the connection on the lights are different and you need Audi or software for the lights to work?

Please cans anyone help on this?

Thanks,
Craig

Look on Audi-zine and audienthusiasts, a fair bit of info, but basically a touch of rewiring and then recoding with VAGCOM will be required.

does anyone know if the original wiring alredy in the car be used on led's or is it a must to replace some of the loom>?Ive heard audi has to recode vcds wont do it?

Just
A) replace bulb with led
B) use vcds to remove the annoying rear bulb error.
Simple.
Probably a quick 5 min job. Don't over analyse it! :)

Any further confirmation on this? Purchased an 09 sline there myself and I want the rear to be LED. Far nicer i reckon.

The existing wiring needs to be adapted to use B8.5 LEDs, Kufatec do an adapter but feedback isn't always good as they are designed for LHD.

We had our existing wiring custom adapted to suit and they work perfectly. Just now waiting for the next upgrade which will be fully dynamic rear indicators

That's if you just want a bulb, i believe the op was referring to converting from standard rear units to the led version

Did you ever get the fully dynamic rear lights for your B8 Avant?

I found the lights really easy to access. Had to remove then to get bumper off. I'd be interested in LED lights just skint at minute :D

Done mine on my 09 saloon, pretty straight forward. Swapped out lights, bought Kufatec wiring harness, fitted, then had the lights coded

Actually, the kit is in the air to me as we speak, I should have it on Friday... Then need to be brave and open the rear lights :)

Good luck with that!

Any chance of posting up a 'How-to' guide?

Where did you get the kit from? Price?

Cheers.

Once I've got it and understand the install I will post more info, it's the first kit to be shipped from the guy who has developed it and he hasn't done an install guide yet

Which bulbs did you use for this quick fix?

I retrofitted OEM LED taillights to my '08

Bought genuine OEM LEDs taillights for eBay (175GBP, got very lucky) , bought adapters off eBay also and had lights fitted and coded at a VAG specialist.

The only problem encountered was the adapters were wired incorrectly (possibly for LHD as they came from Germany) so it took a lot of faffing about and resulted in a lot of wasted time until this was figured out - so the fitting & coding was therefore a bit more expensive than I would have liked.

They do look amazing though! :)

well worth doing this mod, completely transforms and modernises the look of the car.
