I enabled this today and works and I don't have memory seats etc in my 2013 black edition a4.

How to

Go to module 52 door elect
Coding 7
Long coding helper
Byte 4
Tick bite 2 - reverse gear mirror dipping active
Exit
Do it
Click no for try the values currently in the module.
Close controller

Turn car off and on.
Put mirror switch to passenger and put car in reverse

Are you able to do this if you don't have the folding mirrors? I mean, they're electric for the actual mirror, so why couldn't that be possible?
 
I wouldn't have thought folding mirrors are a must have for this function?

The memory of the angled location may mean that memory seats are required. I can set the dipped angle to what I want which differs from the default so I would assume the memory seats (mirrors) are required for this but I mught be wrong. THe dipped position is different for myelf and my wife obviously along witht both mirrors and the seats (all remebered per key - Advanced key).
 
I don't have memory seats and folding mirrors and I was able to set it with carista app.

You don't need to have memory seats for the passenger side to dip, activate in VCDS and turn the knob to the left side.
But I have found that the mirror doesn't always go back up when you move off.
 
Mine always returns, but you need to switch it bakc to central position. Also, with the memory seats you can change the default position and it will rmeeber it, does htis happen without memory.

My mirrors move with the defferent keys so I can only assume this is part of that function too.
 
Don't know if your B8.5s have this, but my 2012 A4 doesn't. There is an annoying alarm on my 2014 S4 when any door is opened and the engine or ignition is on. It can be cancelled by hitting a button on the wiper stalk twice but it is an annoying sound to say the least. I know the door is open. I opened it.

I asked at a dealer and the service mngr was going to find out if it could be coded out as it hasn't really got anything to do with anything important like fuel usage or safety etc. Watch this space.
 
A nice little surprise though. I was going to spend up on a quality rubber liner for the Avant. I didn't know this but flip it over and voilla a deep dish plastic sided floor. Perfect for wet fishing gear.

Great idea. Going to go out at lunch here and swop that over as nothing annoys me more than when driving spiritedly and everything in the boot moves!!

Other things to note:

Alarm beep activation via vagcom
Auto rear wiper removal via vagcom
Follow up front wiper disabled when using scooshers via vagcom
Lap timer on DIS added via vagcom. (Just because!)
DVD playing available with MMI system when stationary

Anyone know what the plastic key case thingy is in the glovebox? It sits on the side wall under the iPod netting
 
The plastic fob is to put the plastic emergency key into

This does go to show that nobody reads their manual for the car lol

This is a good solid deck an use it with the Audi load deck net and its great.

I'll tell you what little 'surprise' I don't like, and one would hope they've modified it on the 8.5 (Anyone confirm?)

You can't have heated seats on only. When I put mine on, the HVAC comes on too.

Also, it remembers your heated seat setting. So you get in the car on a cold Spring morning and put the seats on, then you come back in the 20 degree afternoon (car is closer to 25 degrees) and after a few minutes your **** is on fire! What's worse is the B8 doesn't remember your HHA setting, which would be far more beneficial!

I can have heated seats on only. When I set them on ac cames on and when I press off ac goes off but seats stays on.

I have never noticed this but then I never turn my AC off, its alwasy set to 21 + Auto, never change it. THey were inderpendent on my B6 S4, I'll have to check the B8,5.
 
Heating, Ventalation and Air Conditioning which actually covers the whole system, what people really mean specifically is Climtae Control which is the advanced Air Conditioning.

Mine never goes off, its on 365 days of the year set to auto, it keeps the sytem in good order and modern systems hardly drain BHP, the modern systems set to Auto actually keep the power drain down to a minimum. ALso, the system is kept lubricated witht headdertive which is in the systme keep the seals and mechanicals in good order, a constantly used system will ultimately have les sussues than a systme switch on and off and kept off for long periods.

Top tip, keep your HVAC running and set to auto all the time, pick a comfortable temrature and keep the windows closed, much better environemnt, clean dry air. AC will also clear you morning windscreen a lot faster.

Ah, OK. I'd just never seen that abbreviation. To me, it's climate control, and I use it exactly as you, do - i.e. always on - and for exactly the same reasons you describe.

HVAC is the engineering disapline title used when designing cars (and anything else that uses these systems). its niot usually titled this way for us plebs lol.

I don't even change the temp, I pick the temp I'm happy with, usually 21 and then keep it on Auto and the temperature just stays constant and comfortable regardless of what the weather is like outside, this is what climate control is designed for, the fans and temp of the systme change to keep the cabin at the requested temp. Dual and quad climate does the same hting and if passengers pick alternative temps then the system will keep that zone the requested temp. The system even takes into consideration the sunlight (greenhouse effect) through the glass using the sun sensor on the dash (all climate controlled cars have these).

My last 8 cars have had single and dual climate, I have set them to 21 - Auto - AC on and can honestly say I have hardly touched the controls apart from pressing the demist button, which with AC on clears the windscreen a dam site quicker too.

I really never touch the controls! Example below, sorry, its a porsche picture.

But yes, AC on, Auto on and then just adjust the temprature as you like.

Also find the door open/ignition on chime annoying so would like to switch it off for good. But if done with VCDS would something as petty as this prompt the dealer network to red flag the car as modified and then not honour the warranty?

Little surprise I was pleased with was to find the car came with a dog guard (correction: retractable cargo net) as I wasn't aware it was included. Always have mine fixed up to the roof as it is something else to reduce the glare from tailgating Range Rovers etc with their headlights beaming in.
