My S-tronic S3 saloon in white with Tech pack, Comfort pack, Sat Nav, Phone prep, Privacy glass, B&O sound system, Super sport seats, Pan sunroof and 19" 5 spoke twin arm alloys which I changed to rs4 alloys.

Up next is to wrap the white section of the roof in black leaving the phone aerial in white and the small boot spoiler in black. Then a stage 1 map but I haven't decided which one

....and therein lies the problem Rob. How many times do we get a gorgeous week only to fizzle out by the weekend!

Might have done some more UK hols if we could have guaranteed the weather ;)

Well after 8 hours today my Gtechniq drama is over, never had the time/extra 4 hours to apply/let cure the EX02,but managed to get the whole car protected with C1/C2v3/Meguiar's ultimate quick detailer all paint work is now ultra smooth, really impressed with this stuff, but it takes a lot effort applying this stuff/worrying about ........."hope it dont rain"as the C1 took around 4 hours to cure, took some photos with my new phone but this site says they are too large, looked at the new phone all photos are in 4k res,so here is a couple from my old dog & bone, all of the paint work is like newly polished glass

Beautiful work! Could you tell me the steps you took with the Gtechniq??

Hi mate, after the usual usual prewash and handwash,l decided to prep one side of the car at a time ie front wing, both doors and the A/B pillar on the roof line, door mirror, side of rear bumper with Gtechniq Panel wipe with a new MF cloth, the paint felt really smooth and clean after using this kit,it drys/evaporates in seconds...Alcohol based,I then applied the C1 to the above mention panels using the Gtechniq pads these are about £10/pack of 10 far better than the one's supplied with the C1,anyway applying this stuff is easy enough, but making sure you have buffed off the excess is more difficult especially on the doors you need a keen eye to spot the marring of the paint where the excess C1 has not been buffed off properly and especially around the leaking door mirror mounts, ****** when water from these gets on the C1.

From the initial application of the C1, I would say you have about 20/25 minutes to correct any marring/blemishes of the C1.on the paint before it really starts to cure,so by doing the 2 doors and front wing/side of rear bumper/roofline at once, l wasnt really leaving myself much time to correct any unwiped area.

After both sides of the car had been covered, the rest of the car was far easier to cover,it took me about 2 hours to fully prep/apply the C1,then it was just waiting for the C1 to cure which is dependent on the air tempreture, it was about 17 degrees yesterday up my way, Gtechniq recommend at least 20 degrees.

You know its cured, when the C1 has no resistance to a MF cloth...its a bit like a varnish.

The C2 v3 is easy to apply, just one panel at a time "Panroof got a wee treat aswell",this is when you really start seeing the ultra high gloss shine, the paintwork feels ultra slick

To sum up,this Gtechniq C1 detail is not like most others where you can relax with and take your time doing, your slightly against the clock and if applied outside you need a perfect dry day,"Not had many this year" but its well worth it INDEED

Going to apply the EX02 this weekend weather permitting.

Dave the cost of these products including Microfibre applicators and MF cloths was about £170.....you only need the 30ml bottles of C1/EXO2 these easily cover the S3/A3 with a little to spare, 500 ml C2v3 is recommended as you can use this anytime for top ups,500 ml panel wipe with some left to spare,l only used 4 applicators in totall, still 6 left for the application of the EXO2.

Ps.l dont know about other members cars, but my S3 has virtually no swirl marks at all, even after having the car 5 months,Browny points for Audi,

Thanks Jassy, £170 well spent me thinks. trying to judge when to do mine as correct spec car will arrive mid to late October to thinking I might not get a chance to do the work before the winter so could give it my normal regime and then give it the full works next spring unless we get an Indian summer and I take a day off work in the first week or so after I get the new car.

Yeah Dave, this kit when applied outside,it needs to be warm for a quicker curing time, better still borrow someones double garage lol

There's too many S3's in this thread :sex: So I'll put some up of my Sport haha!

After a good scrub:

Getting some good gloss levels from brilliant red as well...

Stopped for some air and the car looked great in the dusk light, shame the camera doesn't pick it up very well though:
