Hi all,i posted a couple of months back concerning my car having this problem..after listening to the excellent advise on here i carried out these steps.
1 FIRST contacted audi uk to explain.they were sympathetic and outlined what steps to take very clearly re consumption tests etc
2 contacted my local dealer audi halesowen to have the consumption tests done.
3 car failed the test, using 800 ml in 107 miles.,did not proceed to the stage 2 fix but told me they would send the paperwork off to authorise the piston rebuild job.
i was then awaiting an answer on the repair being authorised,..after a week of hearing nothing i again rang audi uk who chased it up.
the next day my car was booked in for the following month at audi halesowen to have the repair carried out, courtesy car supplied for a week.at no time was the cost of the rebuild mentioned,i asked had audi authorised the repair and was told a simple yes,so very happy!
my car was bought from a non audi dealer at 79000 with a full specialist history,5 stamps from specialist and the latest in may of this year at audi, it is currently under an audi service plan at halesowen audi,i did this within a month of buying the car because i plan on keeping the car and wanted it looked after properly.i'm not sure whether this impacted the decision to do the rebuild at no cost to me.
audi uk customer service have been exceptional in listening to my concerns and chasing things up,audi halesowen deserve a mention for thier excellent customer care also, from now on they will get all the business i can send their way,
in short my faith and confidence in the audi brand has been restored and im looking forward to my car performing like it was designed to once the rebuild is done,...having said all that i don't believe this problem should have ever come about,is very stressfull,im sure other tfsi owners appreciate the feeling of driving a "ticking bomb",but it's great to see audi are being genuinely helpful in correcting the issue/
just wanted to thank all the forum members esp MIKE J and others who have helped me with what steps to take,it's very much appreciated.
