DTM register / owners thread

how much it sell for @craichouse ??

I'm selling mine soon but not sure how much to advertise it for ....reluctant sale it will be!:cry:

about £6,700 of your English pounds
but add about £1,000 for value if sold in uk.

I purchased @craichouse 's DTM last week. Amazing car to drive and has been kept in condition too. Currently waiting on UK registration, then will be on the roads. Gave it a good clean today.

Really glad I've found this Forum / thread.

I've been looking at buying a DTM for the last couple of Months now mainly because I like the look / spec of them and also like the fact that there's not many around.

Unfortunately Looking on the usual for sale places, auto trader, ebay etc, nothing has come up for sale local to me until all of a sudden a silver one came up at a car dealers literally 2 miles from my house!

Went to look at it yesterday and it looks very clean, has full history etc but its up for top money.

Was supposed to be going back for a test drive Today but after reading this I'm not going to bother unless he drops the price quite a bit.

Looking through the history, there is no signs of the oil pump chain, cam belt etc being changed and also I now know what that tapping noise was on idle!

I think had I bought it then read this thread I'd be worrying now and about to spend a chunk of cash at the local Audi specialist.

I guess I'll keep looking.

Thanks,

Paul.

Hi i thought i would introduce myself as i just won a a4 dtm on an auction site yesterday but needs a bit of work. I need to get a front and rear bumper along with the front grill if anyone know of any going. Looking forward to it arriving and get some mod underway!

Welcome to the site & congrats on joining a quite exclusive club. Try the audisport classifieds for your bits, good luck as the parts your looking for are rare. It will be nice to see some pics once you've got your car ready.

Hi everyone
Ive owned my DTM for nearly 4 years now and love it. I have put an induction sports filter and exhaust on it and had a new map. Hopefully doing the k04 upgrade next year but i have the problem of a slipping a clutch at the moment can anyone recommend or help with my choices of a standarf clutch or which upgraded clutch i should go for if i need it upgrading? Any help gratefully received.
Thanks.
James.

bit of a delay here but i bought my DTM a while back off a forum member.

done a few bits to it like full LED change over, RS4 grill with black surround. number plate change,

i now have it all booked in to audi to carry out all the bodywork under their 12 year anti corrosion warranty.

future plans is definetly a remap, maybe coilovers or air and i have my eyes on a set of 20" oz ultraleggras and/or 20" genuine rotors off an RS4 if he decides to sell

cheers

Hi peeps, get some pictures up so we can have a good look & maybe nick some idea's lol. I'll be giving mine a good scrub this weekend so I'll get some more shots uploaded.

Just been looking at photos to upload and realised i dont have any recent pics...not that there is anything different ive kept it standard except for the exhaust tips which are still 100mm and led conversion inside and number plate lights...other than them bits its a silver standard looking dtm with a slipping clutch

Keep us posted about your clutch problems & if you do change it. Also it would nice if you can tell what manufacturer you used. I'm still on my original clutch at 90k I think so will probably have to replace mine soon, especially as I have some performance modding to do next year. I'll be looking for a performance single clutch but I'm not too sure where to look. Thanks!

Will do...i was looking at some threads and found usp motorsports in the US was mentioned on one of the threads so had a look and they seem fair priced but didnt know which one to go for if any just needed some thoughts on what others had gone for and at what power. Also if you go for a single mass some have said that you may get vibrations so wanted to know if you do or not off someone who had done it....
What mods you looking at doing? You done any so far?

South Bend Stage 2 tends to be the uprated clutch of choice. Was concerned about clutch chatter however they now do a daily silent type which im looking into.

(Cut and pasted from USP Motorsports site).

The all new South Bend Silent Design clutch packages have all the same great qualities of the previous kits, except now they have eliminated all "chatter" issues. Clutch chatter is the "helicopter" like sound you will normally get when replacing the factory flywheel with a single mass flywheel. It occurs when the engine is on, not in any gear, with your foot off the clutch pedal. You will notice it to go away when pressing the clutch pedal in. This is not actually a problem, like some may think it is, rather a sound that not everyone can tolerate coming from their engine bay. If you are one of these VW owners, then this South Bend Silent Design clutch kit is for you.

I was speaking to them last night and the sort of power ive got and want they advised on the stage 3 daily or endurance spec. They also said then that i would benefit from a new lightened balanced crank pulley which makes sense but i dont know if its really necessary what you guys and girls think?

Thats what they have advised me to get the price at the top is for the stage 3 daily clutch and flywheel kit

Thanks for the info, time for some research. I've not long had my car about 2 months. Mods on the car when I bought were: k&n panel, de-cat, iridium plugs & rs4 arb. Mods I've done so far: h&r 45mm springs & remap cel delete so not sure if it's at stage 2 now. Future plans are to get hpfp, intercooler, s4 brakes, stage 2+, pcv delete, gfb with rev diverter valve, carbonio intake with exhaust. I better get saving. What about you for mods?

I love these cars didn't know anything about them. I was looking to buy a car & stumbled across 1 in autotrader , so I began looking into them. As soon as I saw the looks, tuneable engine & exclusivity I had to have one. It would be cool if there was a DTM meet. We could get as many together in one place. I hadn't seen these cars before & I haven't seen any other on the road.

Thanks for the insight. Will doing some more digging. My clutch is ok for the moment so will carry on modding till I need one.

I went to edition38 hoping to see some DTM's there but didnt see any all that there was that i saw was an sline with the DTM rear bumper i was gutted haha.
There used to be a blue one that was always parked up in Alcester industrial estate and ive only ever seen 1 other. Wonder if there could be a meet arranged and how it would go about being organised.

Maybe if we start a new thread after new year & see if DTM members were willing to meet sometime next year when the weather improves. We could invite certain audi mags & get an article in the magazine. It would be a long shot as I'd imagine DTM owners are all over GB. Where u from j18fxy? I'm located in Slough

I bought my car from rugby. I went there twice to get my car. It was well worth it lol. Recent posts suggest there's still a few members with DTMs on this forum. Hopefully we can all introduce ourselves soon enough & start a DTM club (sounds cheesy )

@WozzaDTM based in Watford bro, not too far from you. Got a couple of thing lined up for mine. Nothing major, genuine rs6 front grill conversion. Going to fit parking sensors this weekend hopefully and attempt to clean the alcantara.

Has anybody had the middle box removed on their DTM? What sound improvements am I looking at? Or does it even make it sound better.

Cool man I was in Watford last month getting MOT done, the reason I went all the way down there is someone at work recommended a friendly place that overlooks the decat, saves me removing it & refitting. Keep us posted with the work bro. Gonna try fix up a DTM meet if we can get a few of us together next year when the sun starts to shine, it would be nice to see a few other DTMs in the flesh. I bought a few cans of stikatak carpet stain remover, only tried it on the steering wheel & gearbox but man it comes up spangling. Gonna give the car a good clean this weekend so I'll test it on the seat & door cards. There are some other cheaper ideas earlier in this thread, check it out. Not sure on your exhaust it would be interesting to see the outcome. Deffo get yourself a decat or sportscat improving throttle & sound.

I dont have the centre box in mine and to be honest its still quiet. I have the jetex system and its made a hell of a difference on performance but not so much in sound just not as farty got a bit of a deeper tone. Sports cat next on the agenda so will see if that changes the sound.
Hope this helps ☺

Nice, price is good compared with milltek & you say there was a big improvement in performance sounds good. I'm gonna have a look at Jetex, if you get some pics I'd appreciate that. I'm in the process of trying to organise a carbon clean using hydrogen, results sound good @£100, could be group discounts if we get enough of us up for it min 3 cars
