Hi all,

Rik at Unicorn developments (UK) is currently working on a DSG map for my car, just to clarify this is the DQ200 7-speed dry clutch DSG box not the 6-speed DSG box in the S3's (Which I think Rik has already released a DSG map for).

Just wanted to let others know just in case they were interested also! My warranty runs out next month so now seemed like a good time to go ahead, these later dry clutch DSG's seemed to have all the early fixes rectified as far as I'm aware and some people pushing 260/270bhp with hard driving for nearly a year now with no issues.

With this in mind I've decided to take the punt and do it! I'm doing it to improve drivability in general and I spend a fair bit of time in manual mode so I've asked Rik if he could work on the doing the following (same as what is offered in other DSG maps in general):

Removal of automatic up-shift at the red line in Manual mode.

Eliminate kickdown in manual mode

Increased rev limiter

Eliminate the 'relaxed' gear changes below ~3,500 rpm as the car feels like it slips into next gear, not a sharp crisp shift as is in higher RPM, reduce to lower RPM e.g ~2,500 rpm.

Shift points in manual mode i.e be able to shift into 2nd gear earlier

Launch control (maybe)

Increasing clamp pressure is not something I'm interested in as I'm only ever go as far as a Stage 1 tune so feel its un-necessary, Rik says theres no reason to also.

For anyone that hasn't come across Unicorn Developments, they are amongst the best in the UK for remapping and tuning.

Cheers
SJ

Just wanted to know for future reference....Does the 1.4 cod Seat Leon share the same 7 speed box you are reffering to...The other half has one you see...:friends:

I believe it does. Mrs Mustard has a Leon 1.8 FR which also has the DQ200. Interesting. But going stage 1 without increased clamping pressure I'd still be worried about the gearboxes longer term reliability, with its claimed torque limit of 250nm.

Do you have an ETA ?

I'm still waiting for Revo to release the TCU tune for my car, I know they've been developing it for well over 12 months and running it on their fleet vehicles.

Its something Rik has been working on for a while Rob, a good few months now but hes been very busy with a lot of projects going on in parallel. He's said its taking him a long time to work his way through the map but hes getting there.

Judging by this thread, Rik has released the DSG tune for 7R's so surely this is the same for S3 8V's too?

Cheers for the heads up ;o)

I think I'll sit tight for the Revo release. Generally it's good practice where possible to use the same vendor as the TCU tune will be designed around and optimised for their engine tune.
