Was told today that the pretorias would fit very nicely and personally I think they a decent upgrade from the tired rotors, anyone done this before or anyone any good at Photoshopping a pic up?

They'll look much better, although V Spokes even better than those.

Yes do like the V spokes it's just I was offered some pretorias for a very decent price, from what I've seen the standard tyres fit them aswell so win win.

A nice wheel.
Although 8J, they will take the 235/35 tyres from the Rotars.
My only concern is the offset. They are 50 and with the narrower rim might sit too far in, but a 10mm spacer will take care of this pretty quickly!

Okay, I'm confused. I thought "rotor" was what the Americans call the brake disc?

It is. Rotars are also the name of the wheels on the RS.
Ah yes of course, I forgot that. Thanks. I'm quite surprised anyone would describe them as "tired". Given the amount of Golf R cars that are around (I'd say 4 to 1 vs RS3 in my area), I'm not sure I'd want to switch my wheels to look as common as those.

:busted cop: Spelling Police are here :busted cop:
Some people seem to take being corrected for spelling really badly. Personally I'd rather know when I was getting something wrong.

My bad it was the spell predictor on my phone, it usually gets things far more wrong than that lol
I think the Roto/ars (lol) are bit overused they seem to be on everything from RS models to ten year old 1.8 A4's, the golf R's are quite common but they still look pretty good and these were a steal for £480 delivered

Apologies - Yes, I think they are in fact 'Rotors'.
Assuming good condition that is a good price for VW wheels.

Looks ok to me ;)

That sort of colour combo ^^^^^look cool but I've unfortunately got the very boring plain silver ones :(, I've got the pretorias in gloss black I think they'll look pretty smart hopefully.

You can still paint your own original look like I did (spending 310 euro)

Think I'm going to do that also, in satin black, whichever I like the most will stay on and the others will be my winter wheels

And everyone has the blacks that's why I did go for the silver + its much more easier to keep it clean. I like colour in different forms and shapes where grey/black aren't my favourite but everyone likes different things so..... Although winter wheels are black so best of both worlds :).

Edit PS: The ones on the Golf is even more common and you can get those to very different car models so that design is out there a lot.

Look what's arrived:yahoo:

They are from CMwheels, he's a sponsor on the M3 forum and has a very good rep, these were delivered in 2 days from ordering, he does these wheels in black and silver.
He's really helpful and usually replies to emails pretty quickly and he's obviously pretty clued up on what will fit the car and what tyres will fit, which was helpful because I'm useless with that stuff

That's great cheers found the website bud looks good great price too what size tyres you running stanadard. 235 35 19 winters? Wonder how the standard pierelli would sit on them with the 255 up front

Sorry got mixed up yours running standard tyres 235 all round I see fornit now.

Would be good to see a proper side on shot, but from the angles you have posted, looks like a fantastic improvement to the car compared to Rotors.
Amazing how much a good set of wheels can lift a car.

I'll try to get a decent side on shot when I get the chance, got all the silver badges in gloss black ready to go on, also I don't want to silver mirrors covers to feel lonely being the only silver bits so I've ordered some carbon fibre ones :)
Amazed at how much attention this car gets! Some negative for eg a mk4 R32 right up my chuff for ages and then a Vauxhall corsa, kids in the car so I had my sensible head on

Will look good with darkened mirrors.
Good looking version you're creating.

Cheers, I was undecided about the mirrors but I've gone all black now so they stick out like a sore thumb, strange because the exterior looks was the only thing I never liked about the car before I got it, now though I've changed my mind, think it looks proper muscular and purposeful

Are the 255 fronts a different wheel size to the 235? Soz if a blonde moment

TX.

Mine came with the non larger wheel options so they are the same wheels all round

Wheel size is the same because of lower profile 30 instead of 35. Quattro system can't handle big differences, was it the differential that's gonna brake (?) if you have another size on one or two wheels. It' s a problem also if you hot flat tyre from for instance a nail than you have to buy all 4 tyres or 1 and resize it in a machine to right size. Been there done that.

Wheel width on the optional wider fronts is 8.5" not 8.0".
ET is 53 instead of 49 to have almost identical poke out.

Plus if you put 255/30 onto an 8.0" rim, the tyres will balloon over the rim. On the optional wheels they do not.

All true but remember the rs3 doesn't run proper Quattro it's runs haldex so can handle diff sizes better and also no need to replace all 4 tyres at once tho over an axel both should be done unless one is nearly new your get away with that

Oh well no good for me then. Have a scuffed front so looking for a new / spare wheel so I can get it fixed.

Old alloys are in storage now, if anyone's interested I would sell them for £800 if you can pick them up or I'd be happy to meet halfway at a reasonable distance.

Look what's just arrived in the post, the black look is complete.
