Avant rear washers

My rear washers on my avant have stopped working. Anyone had trouble with theirs? I've tried unblocking the jets but still no luck.

You'll need to remove the Avant tailgate trim. Be careful, it's held on with fasteners. Yank it off and you'll break the plastic. Before you do this check the tailgate base for water. If it's like previous A4 incarnations, then water pipe runs up driver's side into boot area and goes to tailgate. I'd haul off the washer jet just to be sure before stripping anything down.

Check the drivers side rear boot panel as well. You my find alot of water and it can cause a problem as you have alot of electronics in their. I had faults come up in my previous avant due to water ingress! Pipe comes detached.

If you're sure the nozzles are clear, then check if the passenger (front) footwell carpet is wet - apparently there is a join in the pipe around there and if the nozzles block, the pressure can pop the join under the carpet and soak the footwell (ask me how I know).

Before you start yanking trim off - remove the jet/nozzle, it'll just clip off. Then try again - water should squirt directly behind.
That will tell you whether it's a leak along the line - or if the nozzle is still blocked.

When you push the stalk to trigger the rear washer, can you hear the pump running? That'll tell you if the problem lies with the pump/electrics or just the pipework.

Right there's no leak along the pipe and the pump is making its usual noise when activated, but no water to the rear jets.
I heard that it's the same pump or front and rear and front works fine.
I don't know what else to try. Is it easy to access pump and bottle and where is it?

Yes I have, and there's no liquid coming out of the tube when the stalk is pressed

If you've taken off the nozzle that is in the base of the wiper and tried squirting it, I'd think there is a blockage in the pipework if you can hear the pump running when you trigger it. I had a similar problem on mine a few weeks ago, could hear the pump but nothing was coming out of the nozzle, removed the nozzle and had a stream that resembled my first trip to the toilet the morning after a night out! Turns out there was just a build up of grime in the nozzle from all the salt etc on the roads. Quick soak in some hot soapy water and a blast through from the tap sorted it out.

I've been in to an Audi dealership before when I've overheard someone else has had a similar problem and they have sorted it, I think they run a cleaner through the lines and tell you not to use 'concentrated' washer fluid. I hate to be the one to say it, but it might be worth a look in if nothing else comes up.

Thanks for your help. Managed to get the panel off, which was the hardest part.
Took the pipe off back of unit and used a pipe cleaner to unblock it.
Running nice and clear/blue now. Even manages to reach pedestrians on pavement lol

Nice one, sounds like you could have some fun with that washer jet now then!

I swapped the front jets for the fan ones off my a4 (which I had already changed before) much better.

I know it's been done to death - but could you (perhaps) let me know where and what you sed to replace the existing jets with and how you swapped them out.

Clearly I am happy to be redirected if you don't have the info handy.

I didn't replace the jets, but to remove them you just pull off the cover at the Base of the wiper. Then just pop off the jets with a screwdriver.
