I'm looking at getting a second hand a1 for the misses to do the school run in. We've got an 18 month old to get into a car seat. My question is it practical getting the toddler in and out of?

Looking at 5drs but come across a cheap 1.2 tfsi 3dr.

Any info on having kids in the back.

3-door not so good you really do need a 5-door for the little one.

3-door is GREAT as a 2-seater, and that's how ours is used:

Thought as much.... don't need a desiel as the old a3 only 3.5 k last year on school runs and the odd trip out.

Not many 5drs about in 1.2 tfsi form well not in my price range.

SERIOUSLY: consider an Audi A2! We've had two and both were fabulous with ooodles of space.

We've just changed from an A2 to a 3-door A1 and the reduction is space is just amazing - even for shopping bags in the boot.

Go take a look at an A2. Take a sit in the back and be prepared to be amazed!

Oh, and zero rust.

Haha I wanted an a2 but the misses wants some thing newer.

She already has something newer: "We've got an 18 month old to get into a car seat". Get her an A2, she and you will love it.

If the child seat is going to be left in the car then personally i'd say the 3 door is actually the easier one to get a small child into as the angle you access it at lets you stick them straight into the seat. On a small 5 door car the small door openings on the back doors means that you have to almost lift them over the seat and then put them into it. But best thing you can do is go to a dealer and try them both.
