Ah cool! A black pack pack with alloy mirrors will be fairly unique.

I've specced the black pack but my dealer is throwing in the alu mirror covers as part of the deal! :D

Wow, you've done well @81llyh!
Cheapest I could get the OEM ally mirror covers was just shy of £500!

Just waiting for the last one to go on now, found a video showing how to strip the mirrors down, but dealer agreed to do it FOC which is good as I may have bottled it!

The risk of breaking the glass is high when removing and the replacement cost of the glass is almost as much as the covers.

I had a call this morning saying the covers didn't appear to fit hence the twitchy bum moment but all sorted.

Well what a day!
Dealer called to say car arrived at the PDI centre this morning and they thought they would go and collect it and do the PDI at the dealers to speed things along. Been at the dealers this evening and signed all the paperwork so now I'm collecting tomorow morning! Best thing is they wanted to get the car sale included in the April figures so have sweetened the deal after originally saying they couldn't get it processed untill Tuesday as the PDI centre would be closed.
Only managed a quick pic as it was going straight in the workshop.
Car is unwashed as requested.

Just got home after clocking up a 70 mile spin.
Just a couple of pics, if the weather permits I'll wash it tomorow and get some better shots
and give my thoughts...time for beer now!

It's looking good bud, I can't wait to get mine now. Only 124 days! Not that I'm counting...

Oh and the reversing lights are LED, saw an allroad reversing when I pulled into Audi today.

Yeah, I definitely approve of the alloys. I'm glad I spent the extra spec'ing them.

Today is not looking great for a wash, strong sunshine but windy as fudge!
It'll be like a snow foam party outside. Hopefully it'll settle later.
I must admit I'm having a little bit of a wobble about the wheels, hadn't seen any in the flesh and think they are a little dark with Dayton, seem better when the light hits the polished bits.
still haven't tried the matrix lights! Note to self, no beer later so I can have a nighttime drive.

Hopefully the darkness of the wheels will work well with the lighter floret then.

Let us know what you think of the matrix lights, I loved them and thought they worked really well!

Well I managed to get a wash in, although the rain stopped play when I was drying the car.
I'm not booked in at the detailers untill the 12th.
Noticed that Audi have now painted or coated the wheel hubs, bout time.

That definitely is good to hear about the hubs. Something that seriously annoyed me with the B8.5 when they rusted up so badly!

I'm not as adventurous as you so thought I'd stick with car pro.

It's a great choice. The original Finest was epic and reserve looks even better.

Nothing adventurous about me I just like to try new stuff. :)

@Keef @scotty76 , can I ask which detailer you guys use (if it is similar). I don't know why I did it but I said no to AG Lifeshine when I bought the car and I could see the swirls within a week of picking up the car. I have tried to hide them using AG Super Resin but I want to get rid of them completely. I have all the kit but would like to get it done professionally first and then maintain afterwards :)

Detail My Car based in Newbury, Berkshire. Nick is the boss and a top bloke. Been using them for years. No connection other than as a satisfied customer.

What he said...
I've only been using Nick for the past 3 years
but I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him!
Only downside is I'm not local to Newbury, so it's a 160mile round trip for me.

Ok some internal pics and my initial observations:-
Warning: this is not one of those in-depth, well written detailed reviews, just my ramblings!

Handover was perfect for me, none of this private booth with a silk cloth and big reveal (although this was offered). Car was unwashed as requested and straight out of the workshop after having the mirror covers changed.

Car had a full tank of fuel, front & rear rubber mats and the usb / apple charger cable. This combined with changing the mirror covers and pulling out all the stops to get me in the car for the weekend was the sweetener for the dealership getting to chalk the car up as an April sales for their monthly figures.

I stumbled upon these rubber mats and got really excited until I realised they were for LHD only.
S4 mat

My car came with conti sport contact 6 tyres, not Hankook and so far they feel loads better than the old SC3’3 but time will tell.
I'm still trying to get use to the car as it feels very different to me. I was very well versed with the B8 / B.85 as I’ve had 3 of them.

The engine feels great but the gearbox definitely isn’t as smooth as the S-tronic, although the power is defo there.

The interior is a massive step-up with the tech and feels a very nice place to sit (even in the back)
I haven't found the sweet spot for my seat position as yet, but usually takes me a while.
The steering wheel is slightly concaved, not sure why but I'm feeling this a bit odd, also feels like I can't adjust it high enough
but think I've probably got the seat a bit high.

Still trying to get to grips with the controls and still haven’t driven at night to play with the matrix lights!
Having the mmi controls in front of the gear stick takes a bit of getting use to.

I do miss the larger flappy gear paddles, not sure why they have gone back to the older, smaller ‘non chrome’ ones - cost saving or visibility for the VC maybe.

I’m so glad they have finally located the USB /AMI in the armrest, hated it been in the glovebox!
But putting the SD card & Sim ports in the glovebox has really limited the space.

That said, the little cubby hole you get under the dash on the driver’s side is great! Really deep and useful - not sure if this is standard or part of the storage pack, but defo worth having.

I'm still undecided to ditch or keep the V6T wing badges, I do miss my supercharged badges, ****** loved those!

I’m sure there’s plenty to more to say but I’ll leave that to others as I can’t be ar#ed to type any more.
Any questions feel free to ask?

Good little write up with your views. :)

I was wondering about the V6T badges as well. I have the S4 removed on mine and although I like the thought of getting rid of the side badges I seem to remember someone doing this before and it looked a bit naked. I was thinking of maybe just making them black to match the rest of the trim so that they're a little less shiny.

If you take them off then you should definitely take some photos!

First nigh time drive last night!
Lights are very bright but
Couple of daft questions:-

Are the matrix lights active all the time
when lights are set to auto? Or do I need to have high beam on?? Can the matrix function be turned off???

Are the door plates illuminated or just reflective?

Not overly impressed with the extended interior coloured lights but didn't spend too long playing with the settings.
