Please excuse me for copy and pasting from another section, thought this best lay in the project section as there will be changes here and there... the usual 'project'

Hi guys,

I thought I'd post here as my HELLO to the forum, this is my first delve into the Audi scene having had many Jap cars and still owning a S13 so keen to jump on a forum and having a look around this looks like a good-en.

I'm starting this thread more as a document for myself than anything else but would appreciate any comments/advice along the way with my car.

I bought this car on Friday so only had it a few days now, today was the first time I had a chance to get stuck in so I decided to tackle the interior. It wasn't tired by any means it just hadn't had a good old clean for a while. So I took the seats out, gave everything a good wipe down and general clean and replaced them once complete. Pics to follow. I haven't tackled the exterior as yet but can't wait to as it's in fantastic condition and think it will come up really well...

The issues I know about and need to correct are the two front wings needing to be replaced soon (very minor rust starting to form) and the Turbo will need changing soon as it is whining. Still pulls strong but is making a noise.

On the drive home (Birmingham to Bognor) I had the 'low oil pressure light' come up, it came on after 20 miles, I pulled over, checked the oil level (it's just had a service) to which it was all fine so carried on, the light was off when I re-started the car but again after around 20 miles it came back on. Again stopped and turned the car off, I set off straight away this time and again after 20 miles it came back on again. The car didn't drive any differently at all or show any signs of no oil getting to the engine on my 160 mile trip back. Could it be a faulty sensor? I have read about the crappy oil pickups on these to that could be worth checking...

Anyway, here are some pictures, what do you think?

Ollie

So far I have ordered a new catch for the armrest as this one is broken and a new rear wiper arm. I will eventually need a new Turbo and I'm going to address the bad oil pickup thing on these. I do get a low oil pressure light after driving for an hour or so but It doesn't show when doing short runs.

I took some time to get into the wheel arches and behind the wheels, ended leaving the car up on the axle stands for a couple of days... pikey I know.

It came up pretty well, I need to have the alloys refurbished at some point as they're starting to corrode. I think I'll stay with the shadow chrome finish.

And for those that are interested.... here is my paperweight...

Excuse the mess of a garage, it's currently empty and clean :)

Love the colour. Nice example. How hard was getting all the interior out? I could do with getting this done my self

Thank you :)

Pretty easy, it's just 4 hex bolts and the electrics under the seats for the airbags. The rears literally pop out. They have two fastners at the front in the middle which you just pull up and they're out.

Only a small update but and update none the less...

When I first cleaned the car, I lifted up the rear wiper to find the spring that holds it down to fly off and fall into the drain under my feet... great! So I ordered a new wiper arm as I was hardly going to find the right spring and fitted that.

I have some S4 Headlights on the way from Jamie on here, I have Xenons but the drivers side isnt working so as they came up I thought I'd upgrade. I personally prefer the black headlights too so it's a win win for me.

Whats in the box kids...

So it was the S4 headlights in the box :) thanks to Jamie on here selling them. I'd recommend him as they were exactly as described, came when they said they would do and very well packaged. Cheers.

I wasted no time getting them fitted, need to give them a mop really but I'm far too impatient for that.

Lovin the car bud you doing any engine mods

Thanks Andy, I will need to replace the turbo soon so thinking I may Aswell upgrade it so either the Ko3s or the Ko4. Haven't really looked up and other engine mods, any advice?

Another small update.

I had time over the bank holiday weekend to give the A4 a deep clean. It went, wash, tar and glue removal, wash, clay bar, wash, mop with a glaze, wash, seal with a ceramic coat. It's the first time I have used a ceramic product and WOW! Such a deep shine from the blue, very happy with the result.

This was just from the spoiler alone!

Also prior to this I was sent to Wickes to collect a 'coupe' of bags of limestone chippings which resulted in this...

It ended up sitting lower once I got home, but no rubbing, scraping or anything!

Really love the shape of the A4 wagons, nice colour too. Top marks for the everything out interior clean, I thought it was just me who did things like that. Keep up the good work!

Thanks Calum, The wagon is more for my dog and the pushchair lol but I like the shape anyway :) I was surprised at what I found under the rear bench (a fish finger) amongst other things.

I like to know things are clean underneath, once had a 306 which I removed the rear spoiler, cleaned under it (you couldn't see under the spoiler) and put it back on.... I knew it was clean and that's what mattered haha

Next time I'm doing any suspension work the wheels coming off and it will get steam cleaned first, makes the job easier.
