Excellent, look forward to seeing them.
It's like a new intake of new-starts, like I was a year ago :hi:

When does your dealer give you the order number? Is it straight after you have signed the order formto them? I ordered mine this Monday & but the Audi dealer didn’t give me the order number To track my vehicles progress

There's no consistency mate. I always get mine the day I do the deal along with the paperwork but others seem to have to wait on it being sent to them for some reason.

My deal was mostly done over the phone and by email, but my dealer sent me the confirmation and order no. on the same day.

Can anyone tell me what their wait was between Status 38 and 39? Waiting for a ship to actually getting on one?

i bet you cant wait!

That’s an understatement!! If it is at the dealer the week after next, it would be literally perfect. I’ve booked two weeks off give or take a couple of days as of next week. Gives it a couple of days to be PDI’d, then transported to the PPF company.. where it will sit for a week and then she will be coming home right in the middle of my holidays :D

I have told the dealer I want to know the day it’s due to arrive because I will be there waiting when the doors open.

I can see me doing the same. There is no way I can just use it for normal use, I will be wanting to pile some mileage on to get it past the run in stage. It’s horrible seeing mileage climb on a new car, but it’s there to be driven I suppose.

I did 450 miles in the RS3 loan car I had for 28 hours, I don’t think I could let myself do that with mine.

Mine went straight from 30 to 39, never had a 38. 30-39 was three weeks.

As I've said before, I subscribe to the theory that the best run-in system is to ensure you load the engine a fair bit in the first 200 miles or so, after thoroughly warming it through of course and without using excessive revs. I'll be aiming to complete these 200 miles on day one.

My car is being collected from Leicester, my Dad was least impressed when I said we will be coming back down the country roads to South Wales (150 miles). I won’t be sitting on any dual carriageway or motorway on the way home, I will be varying load and won’t exceed 4000rpm.

When my S3 was new I did 350 miles under 4000rpm and then went straight to the red line but didn’t give it a kicking until 500 miles. I can’t decide on how long to run the RS3 in, I was going to seek advice from a tuning company.

No doubt my car will be doing several hundred miles in the first week or so, I have been without a car for 3 weeks already and I will be without for another 3. I’m borrowing the girlfriends Corsa Diesel and my Mums 2.0TDI A4, only a 143ps.. the RS3 will feel absolutely rapid.

you must be wanting it so badly! I’ve just spoke to my cousin who has an F-Type and he loves it so much, they’re beautiful but not as nice as an RS3

Me and the wife ordered on the same day a year ago. Her TT waited less than a week at the port while my S3 waited just over 2 weeks mate.

My A3 is still at the port been there since the 30th of Sept..... However it's replacement arrives today

Good man, getting those angles in ;) Thanks for the tag, live to see the new car photos.

One thing I noticed is a lack of wax there ;) Get some decent wax on so it beads well, will help with keeping it clean in winter.

11 days for me.

Where is your car going to? When I watched the arrivals and departures at Emden a lot of boats went backwards and forwards to Shearness and Grimsby but very few went to Tyne, I remember a couple of people waiting 3 week ish for cars heading to the north

Sounds like a plan! Get onto Slims Detailing for your products, when I put in big orders they are from there.

Welcome to the forum Freddie! I hope we have another Audi fan ;)

It’s going to Grimsby I believe, that is what was on the dealers order system when I had a peek.

How are you tracking the ships?

I used marinetraffic.com.

You can set up a free account and add 5 vessels which it will track for you. Its not very scientific but if you search for the port emden you can see whats expected in and what departures are due.

The vessels to watch are

City of St Petersburg (mine came over on this) This left for Grimsby a couple of hours ago - you may get lucky !

https://www.marinetraffic.com/en/ais/details/ships/shipid:411554/mmsi:353083000/vessel:CITY OF ST.PETERSBURG

Any of the 'Highway' fleet (thames, EMS, Makassar etc)

You're looking for any vehicle carrier vessels.

I hope you are not too busy at the moment because vessel watching can consume an enormous amount of time if you let it.

The wider opinion, including me, is that it's a waste of cash. Poorly applied by people who are not detailers and it lasts no time at all. Better putting the cash towards a proper detailing of the car. (Sorry!)

Superb, thank you! Busy? At the moment I’ve got a whole new meaning of the word. Tomorrow I am on my 7th of 14 shifts in 16 days.. sigh :(

I will spend some time later and get it set up. The thought of it sat there is awful haha!

Definitely not worth it unfortunately. How much did you pay? My local dealer tries to sell it for £500, but at first question they drop it to £195.

If you’ve committed, cancel it and send the car to a local detailer for a few hundred.

Damn that’s gutting :( Complain about it and get your money back? When it’s washed you should see clear effects of it beading etc and they very rarely do.

Lesson learnt I guess, sorry to be here with bad news.

Also confused.....

Wanted my post to be as confusing as the delivery of my A3.... Car is stuck in Emden been there since the start of the month, so Audi just dropped this off this morning. Not bothered about my car now, I'll have a week or two of free motoring, just add fuel as it were.

Have to say I'm not keen on the screen stuck on the dash, bit of a poor cost cutting measure by Audi on that one. Also hill hold should be standard on s-tronic cars rather than penny pinching on a £75 option. Also the hankook tyres on it are rubbish, already had wheel spin and It's bone dry here
