New car wash/detail

hey all

I’m picking up my new Audi A4 tomorrow and opted to not go with the autoglym lifeshine. Anyone recommend any products I can pick up to give it a wash and protect from new?

A good choice. I’ve only heard bad things about lifeshine (probably to do with how it’s applied at dealer rather than product itself). I would look into getting it ceramic coated and detailed obvs if there are imperfections in the paint. My detailer used max protect UNC-R elite on the paintwork but it’s pro only.
There are some consumer versions like cquk but the paint will need to be fully decontaminated and prepped before application and you may struggle with the cold weather without a garage.
If you choose not to go ceramic a safe two bucket wash, decontaminate and polish, sealant and wax on top will Work in the short term.
Collin It’s is meant to be a decent winter wax but as mines coated I can’t really recommend any sealant or wax products

I'm enjoying using Gyeon Bathe to wash and Gyeon Cure to quick protect. What colour is your car? I can second the recommendation for a pro detailer applied ceramic coating. I'm on my second on the S4. Started with CQuartz Finest and now on Kamikaze ISM Coat. Both good. Gyeon MOHS+ is also excellent, got that on the wife's car.

For a quick job (for now) some wash and wax topped off with Sonax QD.

I got the A5 last month, all I've used is 'Simoniz ultimate shampoo and wax' about £5 for 5 litres! and the Sonax and I'm getting this when it rains:

I have found the simoniz product to leave streaks compared with my chemical guys bidy wash and wax but which is the better product. Or maybe they're just as good as each other?

I had a black S3 before this white A5, can't say I ever had streaks on that!
