I'm probably going to sound daft here, but what does opening the exhaust flaps actually do? Does it essentially leave the flaps open permanently as if I was driving around in dynamic mode?

Exactly that
No, a change purely for the sound. Thanks! Is there any difference in fuel economy or any other performance gains / losses?
Got a Carista coming today, looking forward to having a play!

It doesn’t work on Facelift vehicles. Not sure about PFL

Just tried to activate dippy mirrors when reversing, and it didn't work . Enabled and disabled all thre different options relating to dipping mirrors several times! I had the passenger mirror selected on the dial, and car was definitely in reverse. I also have folding mirrors. Any advice??

Mine worked out of the box too.
From Carista support:
As for the passenger mirror dip, please try the following steps. First, enable "Allow lowering passenger-side mirror when in reverse gear" and "Lower passenger-side mirror when in reverse gear". After that move the mirror switch to the passenger's position. Also, please do not enable any of these:
Remember position when lowering driver-side mirror in reverse gear
Remember position when lowering passenger-side mirror in reverse gear
Remember position when lowering passenger-side mirror in reverse gear (step 1 of 2)
Remember position when lowering passenger-side mirror in reverse gear (step 2 of 2)
Remember position when lowering driver-side mirror in reverse gear (step 1 of 2)
Remember position when lowering driver-side mirror in reverse gear (step 2 of 2)

I'll give this a go in a second, cheers!
No option in any of the MMI menus unfortunately, only the option for 'Fold Mirrors' under Central Locking.

Not sure why it didn't work without Carista - Have you spoken to Audi about it?
That's not great thenI've not, but I'm not confident in that they will give me a good answer. I asked the sales guy when I bought it if it had folding mirrors, and he told me confidently that it didn't.... One look through the MMI menu later and it does!

That's not great then
The folding option is on the joystick on the armrest I assume

Anyone tried out PFL exhaust flaps yet?
Got my res delete (anti drone) from BCS done on Wednesday, sounds good but even with it being an anti drone the noise on the motorway (2oomile trip) was a bit annoying when around 3k RPM, more so if the car got "stuck" with boost it makes more noise then. I didn't want to kill myself, it wasn't that bad but required the music to be a bit louder
But my flaps are open (cable unplugged), so I imagine if I closed them and was in none-dynamic mode then the sound should be OK (I hope!). However... for day to day driving I'm probably going to want them open... so looking for a quick way to open and close them while on the move. If Carista can do this, then excellent. But it's only in beta I think anyway which only lasts a month I believe..
If nobody else has tried it, imagine will do it at the weekend.
Hmm. I'm sure I saw it, or read it about it.. Will have to check tomorrow, maybe is none.Whats the option for the flaps? Couldn't see it on my app (running 3.7 BETA).

If you can't do it with Carista anyway I would recommend opening them anyway.Yeah I've also read about it, I'll try it if it knew what the option was!

Turn the car on, go into dynamic so all valves open and then there is a cable (one on each side) you can unplug near the exhausts.. Just leaves them open all the time never wanted to have them shut with stock exhaust.
If Carista can't then need to see if obdeleven can.
Haha it's not so bad, can do it from side of the carNice I'll give that a go if I can't get Carista to work! Call me precious but I don't fancy sticking my face in the exhaust if I can avoid it

Does the WiFi Hotspot option allow tethering the car Google Maps nav system to smartphones? Its under "other"
3.7 BETA 18
Can only assume it does what a think it does.. The description is never too helpful!
No idea what it is, despite what Carista says I haven't enabled itDoes the WiFi Hotspot option allow tethering the car Google Maps nav system to smartphones?

Tried PFL exhaust flaps this morning. It just gives an error about intermittent issues communicating with the vehicle
Interesting, I tried again this morning and same problem but flaps are shut.. I'm not doing anything wrong am I...?Mine kept saying that, but it did open the flap even though it was showing the error

1) turn on car
2) toggle between <something mode> and dynamic
3) stick finger in exhaust tips to make sure all are open
4) use Carista, say yes i'm in "race?" mode
5) get error message
6) toggle between dynamic and comfort
7) stick finger back in exhaust tips but the outer 2 are closed
How can you tell if they are open?
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
YesSo in comfort normally would only 1 pipe be open at idle? And after this change both pipes will be open in Comfort at idle?
Thanks!

Perfect thanks. Will give it a go and see if it works on Facelift
