My vote goes to the 3.0 TDI mini GTR ( if you take the sq7 out fake sound)

Quite like Cummins diesel engine's and allot of big trucks, love the mechanical sound/feel.

To be honest I think my A4 sounds alright for a 1.9tdi;







Can't beat the sound of a nice (big/turbo/both) petrol engine but most my miles are on the motorway.

Was toying with the idea of putting a Cummins into a defender have you had a Bm m57 before?
 
Does anyone know how to correctly fit a manual boost controller on the A4 b6 Avant 1.9tdi would appreciate the help before I try to. Thanks in advance
 
Boost controller!? I presume/hope you mean gauge; the map controls the boost, you can get switchable maps and the like though (which are only really applicable to drag car's, track car's or anything that is being taken to the limits of it's performance).

If you have an EGR delete most of these have a pressure tapping for a boost gauge.

Buddy of mine has an OM606 with Holset big turbo on it, running it in a mk2 Jetta with BMW gearbox an BMW rear-axle(so its a RWD car).. that thing sounds fantastic!!
He sure beats the SH@T out of it every chance he has, and so far it has been flawless with far over 400whp... He is close friends with a tire-supplier due to the fact that he's also a member of a drift club(mostly BMWs).

Have you had m57 nm it will fair better type r
 
This is what my 3.0 TDI sounds like, no tunnels or car parks.


Open the valve for hooligan mode, close it for quiet relaxed cruising.

Sounds good Karl :icon thumright: much more sporty than mine, one day I'll have a V6/V8/V10 rather than an 8V haha.

No I did mean a boost controller and you do know your stuff, I’m new in the sense of knowing about diesel power. Have done quite a bit of tuning to my A4 Avant b6 1.9tdi pd130 most recently an egr delete and intercooler, just searching for a bit more power before I make the leap for a bigger turbo, not really wanting to do that as I know they can be smokey after that my audi is unique in the noises it makes I have not heard anything similar where I live will post a video for all my diesel brothers

Sounds very similar to mine, smoke and diesel tuning go hand in hand fortunately or unfortunately if your not keen (I am, anything to annoy tailgaters and cyclists) generally comes from unburnt fuel far as I know.

"Sympathetic" :playful: you mean good, surely most people with modified car's know where to go or find out. Mine isn't smokey on idle getting up to the rpm's anyway which is what they test, theirs a few other things on the car I'm concerned with when it comes to MOT time like how the entire front end is off a different car and the headlights don't electronically adjust.
