Pressure washer reccomendations please......

Karcher themselves offer repairs but it's not cheap.

https://www.kaercher.com/uk/services/home-garden/kaercher-service.html

Is it just the casing that's broken? You might be able to buy a new one from somewhere like espares. It's usually just Torx screws that hold the casing together.

If you Google Karcher Service Centre there are other places around.

Personally I just ebay things for "spares or repair" as there are plenty of industrious people who repair stuff. I've not taken anything to the tip for years, someone always buys them.

Yeah it’s just the casing. They sent a new replacement and said to keep the broken one so I’ve got no real need to fix it myself.

It’s never been plugged in but I assume all of the internals are fine, just never wanted to risk it.

You'll be spraying snowfoam every chance you get now.. Lol also may l suggest you dilute your snow foam mix even more now,as the more powerful pressure washer will foam up your product even more,l set the dial - + to around 5 o'clock

Just treated myself to the K5X from Wickes on the £153 deal. It is Father’s Day after all.

Had a Nilfisk C110 for about 8 years and although still going it’s starting to pulse and just isn’t powerful enough when using my foam gun. They’re still good value though as can be had for about £70 these days.

Had a quick play and the K5 is a lot quieter, but then it should be as its much better spec machine. Just hope it proves reliable.

Can't wait to get snow foaming, think I'll be foaming everything in sight. Thanks for the tip about the dial mate :thumbs up:

What’s that on the water inlet, a filter? Didn’t get that with mine.

Edit: Can see on the box now I should have this filter. Email has been sent. Let’s hope they don’t insist on me returning the machine. It’s built and has been tested now.

Nope it's an additional filter for use with water butts. The other filter is inside the machine where you screw the hose connector on. Sorry should have mentioned that to avoid confusion.

Ever since I started following this thread I have started to hate my K2 . Been to Halfrauds and Wickes couple of times just to look at K4/5 and the more I look at it the more I hate mine.

@Tashfeen

Go on go for it........ The k5 is more powerful and has a longer hose. The extra 10% off is only valid at Wickes till Tuesday..... No pressure :thumbs up:

Or save your money, just use a hose pipe with a good spray head will suffice.

Sadly nothing works quite as well on alloys as a pressure washer. I'd buy one for this reason alone.

haven't heard of those before, but bet a hot water pressure washer would take all dirt off, let alone any product applied :wtf:

Cantona, ah the good old days, I had a Sony Rear projection TV that took up half the room, and most of my bank balance at the time.
Also had REL sub, Sony Receiver, Mission speakers, 4 miles of speaker cable etc etc. Now I have Sonos, and my life is complete.
Oh yes, and also saw the light and the back of my 1st Mrs' head leaving :blahblah1: (Ok, so I asked her to leave!)

I would never buy a karcher again. Absolute crap!
They have lasted from between a year to 1 day!! I’ve had 5 and the build quality is terrible. (Plastic parts inside which can’t be replaced)
I currently run Nilfisk 140.4. They all have metal parts. The main draw was that they have these metal parts inside and can be replaced if necessary. However, on looking on the market, that’s not true and you can’t buy any replacement motors for them. They are still far better quality than karchers.

I do agree to an extent, the smaller Karcher's K2/K3 are cr*p in my opinion, have had a few over the years, but current K5 I cannot fault (apart from the fact is is a bit of a lump), and as it is water cooled, has been fine for the 4+ years I have had it. Apart from being a lump, the hose that keeps twisting up does my head in, but at least it is long enough (6m), but would much prefer a non tangle one like the kranzle :whistle2:

Get an upgraded hose from qwashers if your machine is fine. I bought one for my old K5 2 or 3 years ago and it was a revelation. It cost about £45 but was 10m long and proper rubber hose so no kinking. :)

No Kranzle needed. :D

Nice shout @Supa Koopa , I am googling my way over there right now! Just need to make sure I get the right one, as my K5 doesn't have quick release I think they call it. :icon thumright:
