I have just got a new A5 S line in July and havea quick question about the interior LED lights. I assumed, having turned all the different lights under car settings to the brightest setting in the MMI that they all come on automatically when it gets dark, but have noticed that footwell lighting doesn't always seem to come on with the rest of them when it gets dark. Is there a reason why the footwell ones don't light up too? I swear sometimes they do light up, so I assumed that it might be linked to having the high beams on, but I tried that yesterday and it doesn't seem like it. I also tried pushing the button in the overhead instruments for internal lights and still nothing!

Thanks!

I would have thought that the footwell lights only come on with the door open and it being dark? I'm sure my overhead interior lights only come on with the door open and it dark too.

No, I've definitely noticed the footwell lights whilst I've been driving around from time to time. They are quite subtle, not really for illumination, just secondary/mood lighting. I'm more concerned that it might be a defect or something.

I'll have to take a look at mine, never noticed them and I have the extended lighting :)

Go to your ambient lighting menu. Open it and then press the right option button.......then you can adjust the footwell lights.

Thanks. For some reason, only footwell lights were turned down :icon thumright:

The footwell lights don’t come on with some of the preset lighting themes. If you go into individual mode you can make them brighter and come on with the rest.
