Extra Security for S3

Hi All

Expecting delivery of a S3 (Company Car) in the next couple of months and I have been thinking about some extra security for it.

I have looked at Blackjax - Ghost - Pandora

I like the idea of the Blackjax for anti hijack - but think the code entry will become tiresome after a while

Ghost seems like a good option but would rather they were away from the house before realising and demanding codes - plus no anti-hijack

Pandora Mini BT with Anti-Hijack seems like a good mix of both but wanted to know if anyone has any experience of them - or any other ideas to throw into the mix??

I wouldn’t personally bother having any of those fitted to the car if it’s a company car, it all has to be declared on insurance and I’ve heard ghost can bring up certain faults when scanned. I would stick to a good steering lock and security lights at your home to put them off even trying. If you have keyless then get a pouch to put your keys in to block the signal, they only cost a few quid.

Agree with Dannymoto, Steering locks, security lights and faraday pouch, perhaps OBD port relocation and a scary dog.

My advice would be to strengthen your home doors and windows and get an rfid blocking pouch for the key.

I picked up my 18 plate S3 Saloon a few weeks back and I went down the route of doing as much as I can to prevent the scumbags from entering the my house. I fitted anti snap/drill door locks to patio doors, driveway floodlights, rear floodlights and Ring spotlight camera over the garage. I sleep much better at night now.

I didn't bother with the ghost thing because once the thieves have your keys and realise your car has a ghost, they will just re-enter your home and demand the key sequence from you.

If they do manage to get into my house then i'm more than content with them taking the car and me never seeing it again. That's what insurance and GAP insurance is for.

Not my car but my friends S3, canbus errors and throws a gearbox malfunction if you start without putting code in. I assume that’s supposed to happen so it looks legit and broken (to the thief) but not great if it’s under warranty.

Have seen that happen on the promotion videos where if throws errors up and I assume that is meant to happen

Seems to be normal but not ideal if car needs to go back to Audi for work. Company car will be under manufacturers warranty so.

Anti ram security bollard or bollards depending on how wide your drive is. Don’t go for the the crap ones that screw into the floor if interested.

I can recommend the ones which are concreted in to the ground about 900mm.

Stoplock Pro Elite rather than Disclok would be my recommendation - gets better reviews and easier to stow when not in use. Doesn’t mark your steering wheel at all and is a good visual deterrent. Like to think this makes any scumbags stroll-on and look for a softer target.

As above I have the stoplock pro elite and I put it down my passenger seat when driving and it doesn’t move.

I have a disklok and they don’t damage your steering wheel, well I ain’t come across that anyway- they come with a padded strip inside the metal and not as clangy as they were 15 years ago - agreed on the space tho. I usually keep in footwell unless I have a passenger then it ends up behind me in the back.

Keep your keys downstairs, so if they do get into your house, they're away ASAP. Best security is keep it out of sight in a garage.

I just hope if mine is ever stolen, the police find it wrapped round a tree with it's occupants embedded into the tree trunk.

> Tracker
> Stickers advising of OBD and tracker
