Hello guys!

Last month I bought a 2007 prefacelift s3 8p with 100.000 kms on the clock and I’m pretty happy with it although it needs some minor work to be perfect for my taste!
Car is booked for full maintenance service and overall inspection in a few days and after that I’m planning on changing the shocks. Then move on new brake disk and pads front and rear with fresh brake fluid. I also got new Bridgestone Potenza s001 on.
Firstly I want the car to handle as it should and then move on engine upgrades.
By the time it has h&r rear arb fitted and bilstein b6 but the previous owner decided to send them for custom valving and after a few thousand kilometers shocks seems to be shot. Although they perform ok, I can hear gaping noises even on light bumps and it’s kind of annoying...

So my question is what Bilstein shocks to use with stock springs? I don’t want to go lower as i will use it as my daily and local roads are rubbish.
Should I go for b6 or b8? What about Koni’s?

Thanks for your time guys!

A few recent threads on this already.

Think some folk went for b4’s?

Great..
I wasn’t even looking on b4 but as it seems this should be the best choice for my situation. The car is daily driven so I’m gonna take a look on them!
Thanks for the input!

There aren’t b6 shocks for the s3?
I didn’t know that... thanks
So I’m between b4 and b8
B8 works with standard springs?

I didn’t know that
So, My last option for shocks only kit from Bilstein is b8?
I’m searching for reviews right now to help me consider buying or not

Bilstein don't offer the B4 either, as in my last post B8 only.

Hello Damian, hope everthing is fine. I have S3 8p 2011 and I'm trying to re new the oem shocks already worned. B8 will be the only ones same as oem (talking in the piston rod seize) Bilstein dealer in México city is offering me b4 but not the part numbers (maybe just for selling). B8 35-108191 fronts and 24-178006 rears are the correct ones.? Appreciate if you could help i'm lil bit desperate, there's no aftermarket options only oem at dealership

Yes B8 only for the S3 8P. If you have standard springs then they're fine but if lowering springs then they need to be shortened.

You mean to be shortened the shocks if using with lowered springs ?? But B8's are supposed to be design for low springs (aftermarket) or cars from factory already with sport springs isn't it.?

Have you ever use the B8's in S3 ? How did you feel the car

The s3 already has springs lower than standard a3's
