What have you done to your Audi A4 B7 today?

Looks good Paul. What downpipe / intercooler did you go for. Exploring those options at the moment. I think I’m the same engine as you BKN?

Hi Nathan
Downpipe came from Germany off e bay about £225 I think my tuner sourced it for me and intercooler is a Darkside one I just built a bracket instead of cutting crash bar hope you have patience bud the bumper and fog lights are very very tight behind and yes it’s a BKN engine if you struggle with owt just pm me I don’t know everything but done loads to mine in last 5 1/2 yrs
Good luck

Cheers Paul. I’ve considered the dark side intercooler and the decat pipe they offer just for ease. What else have you done to achieve that power? I’m stage 1 at the moment but always want more

Hybrid turbo and a good tuner to extract what they can you’ll get about 325 bhp I’ve done a turbo swap and injector change and some other trick bits but that’s between me and my tuner.
I’ve not got any figures on mine but I’m close to 400bhp just needs a final tweak in next few weeks if yours is a manual you’ll need to source a clutch and flywheel to go past 330bhp I’ve had one made but that’s another story
Good luck

Cheers Paul. Venom hybrid turbo is on the list to buy. I’m auto so should be able to handle the power. Although I’d make sure the torque is capped so not to do any damage.

Washed and admired it lol

Hi folks - I had my car up in the air again to readjust the font ride height - was just too fed up with clipping every tiny bit of detritus on our wonderful roads...... I think this may be about right this time - arch gaps look about the same front & rear. Wotcha think?

I need to replace the font lip spoiler now as its met one too many kerbs & sleeping policemen. Guess it can wait until the bumpers off so I can fix my grille again.......
I unexpectedly also had to replace a CV joint boot which I spotted was split after jacking the car up - but that turned into a right time wasting saga as well - Have a look at Robs CV joint thread for more grisly details.

Class mate.

Looks spot on - especially with the DTM wheels.

Today, I fitted a new rear wiper motor.
Another box ticked - hopefully not many unticked boxes left..........

So...

After a quite large bill I now have:

New gearbox oil
New brake fluid
New cam chain, tensioner etc. + loads of other work to sort out the rounded bolt attached to the cam shaft.
New aux belt
New HPFP plug
New B12 bilstien suspension kit
+ a cheeky remap... 250bhp, 300lb/ft... happy

Very expensive day, but overall - it was all gear that needed doing, so happy it’s all been done.

Finally replaced my nearside outside cv boot after the messup with parts, hopefully will pass its MOT next week now.
Spent an hour afterwards cleaning up all the grease that was spattered under the wheel arch, over the brake caliper and pads etc , well it was everywhere, nice and clean now but fully expecting the offside to split now with the same results.

Got round to changing all the oils in the diffs today. Front and centre diff pretty hassle free. Rear diff...glad I made sure I could undo the fill plug before just diving in and draining it. 45 mins of lots of swearing. Sweating, a snapped 1/4 to 3/8 adapter (cheapo one so say no more) finally free’d the fill plug. And after all that the rear diff oil didn’t look too bad ha. But all sorted now!

Hell yeah! Wow what a difference to the handling, still compliant and smooth but much more supported throughout a counter now - really making the most of the eibach rear ARB now! A nice lift mid corner brings the rear into play... outstanding! The engine should have left the factory like this... pulls so much keener through the Rev range! What a sleeper, Hurrah!! Worth every penny.

That's why I'm still driving my old bus 5 years on, such a good car , well an even better estate really , everything you need from a performance mid sized family saloon in an estate format, its a win , win situation.:yahoo:

glad it working for you chap, too many owners get bogged down with there cars and never get to enjoy these cars.:icon thumright:

New clutch switch and 4 new headlight bulbs - yet to test - and a quick wash.
I was going to drop the bumper to fit a new high pressure switch for the AC but opted to crack on with my RS4 look-a-like front grille instead.

Changed a broken rear brake light. But in the process found out that LED lights cause an error code, so instead just replaced with a standard bulb. That the whole light cluster has a broken clip and has been hanging on by just the screw. And now I need a reverse parking light...

Still lots of work to do on her!

I tried LEDs in my last B7 - more trouble than they're worth with all the resistors and heat generated by said resistors!

Today I bought a set of 19"s for my S4, the old girl looks a bit silly on 18" wheels I think.
Next I want to address the exhaust as its stupidly quiet, any ideas welcome :)
Here is the car currently:

Looks well, I’ve got a miltek non res on mine. Sounds awesome now but it does drone a little while at lower revs. Doesn’t bother me that much as it’s just a bit of weekend/fun car. If I was driving it daily I think I would get a resonated system!

Thanks for the advice Sam, the videos I have seen on YouTube of non-res Millteks on the S4's sound a bit quiet still, I heard a standard V8 Mustang the other day and I was massively jealous! I may go for a Milltek non res and just gut the backboxes I think so its a bit angrier.
After that will be lowered suspension and maybe a carbon diffuser/front lip and side skirts so its a bit sportier.

Yeah fair enough! I have heard of people doing that. I gutted the precat’s on mine and that made a difference to the sound. Also made a bit of a difference to its throttle response. Or maybe that’s just in my head ha. Sounds like you’ve got good plans!!

Ride height looks spot on, what setup is it?

Fitted the wind deflectors. Gave her a quick clean. Need to decide on alloys next. Bit torn between either running 18x9 or going up to 19. Got a new set of uniroyal rain sports so that would be a bonus to keeping 18’s. Not sure what to do!

Well it's that time again, the MOT, so gave the old bus a check over and all appeared ok, well to me that is..lol
Gave it a wash and blow dry ready for tomorrows test, hopefully will pass but one can never really be 100% sure these days.

Sorry for the dumb question, but did you do this as it needed doing/ you wanted to see the difference or is this something that needs to be done every x miles and it had not been done? Wondering if I should bother with mine now...

yep 18z's , ideal upgrade for B7 buses , epic stopping power when required but very user friendly when just pootling around, must have upgrade to be honest.

well suited to 19" rims, perfect fit behind the old buses current alloys.

I couldn’t see that it had ever been done in its history. It’s on 94k miles now and Ive been having an issue with steering. On hard lock right it’s been juddering but got worse the last few miles so thought I’d start with servicing them. Thought it won’t do any harm. The centre and front were definitely ready for an oil change. The rear was okay but can only benefit from fresh oil. It has been a lot better with its juddering since but I think mine has a deeper issue with either its rack or its servotronic steering. Still getting a few whines from it and some knocks

Very nice Oz alloys chap, just a shame they are to dark for me, and that I wanted to go back to OEM rims, nice all the same.
Bet you want about a grand for them aswell.

Well been out for the annual MOT and it passed again and with no advisories so that's good :yahoo:, glad it's over with for another year really as I never like the thought of a fail and the possible cost of work required.
A quick look at the milages indicate I did 8075 miles in 12 months which is about right for me these days.
Time for a mug of tea and biscuits me thinks.:icon thumright:

quick pic on the way home, needs a wash again :haha:
