Hi folks
Anyone had any issues with the dashcam vibrating?
At the moment when the music is on with a mild bass note I can hear the front unit vibrating and it triggers the crash sensor/recording. It’s starting to annoy me.
I’m looking for something like a foam or rubber pad that sits between the unit and the windscreen mount. Anyone had any success doing something like that and what did you use.
Cheers
Al

Nothing so far. I have installed it twice though as the first time I messed up the positioning. I bought extra 3m pads from amazon and cleaned off the old ones from the mounting point. Perhaps yours are getting a little less sticky at the front? Either way, you could take off the unit, add a few tiny little strips of 3m backing around the edges of where it is hitting?

I've not got this issue and I have the same camera. I sometimes get the rear view mirror vibrating if I put my music too loud but this hasn't affected the camera. Maybe you could try those felt pads you get for furniture?

It seems to be vibrating between the bit on the windscreen and the camera unit itself and not actually hitting the windscreen.
The way the camera clips in doesn’t seem to be very tight anymore. Kind of like it’s worn. I’ve had on a few occasion if i corner hard enough the camera will slide out the clip and just dangle there by the cable. The camera slides on the mount and clicks when it’s locked in but it’s not very tight.
Will try a thin foam/felt type pads between the camera and the mount. Just don’t want to break the mount as I don’t think there’s spares in the box.

Mine takes quite a shove to clip it in place on the holder, if I don’t clip it in properly then it does what you are describing. Are you sure you are pushing it all the way in?!

I'd speak to Thinkware and see if you can get a replacement mount, sounds like it was defective from day one

Don't have this issue but the app is a pile of rubbish and won't let me connect to the unit so have just given up.

No vibrating or anything on my car however.

not had any issues with the app after the last update after iOS 13.xx. Works well with my iPhone and my cheapy amazon tablet I use for obd11.

I had a vibration that turned out to be the cover that clicks over the cable outlet. I just leave that cover tab open now

Put some TesaTape (fabric tape) on the mount in order to make everything "tighter". Have seen this a could of times were people have been removing and re-fitting the camera unit a lot.

Yeah probably need to trouble shoot it a bit more but not overly fussed.

Had F770 before and now Q800Pro. No issue like that on either of them.

If the sticky pad is original and brand new, it shouldn't move.
Thicker foam pad (not Thinkware) could allow some vibration.

all original and never been removed since @DJAlix fitted the camera.
Will try the fabric tape, think I got some from years ago making up wiring looms for my old sounds.

Well, if fitted by @DJAlix , than it must be top notch job and the blame is on to Thinkware.

I had 3 F770's installed, all with faulty GPS module.
Soon as the signal connected, error made the camera to restart.
It was driving me crazy loop messages of restart and error.

Contacted their biggest UK distributor and got an upgrade to Q800Pro.
Since then, never been happier with a dash cam

I have a Blackvue 750 dash cam and it appears the most import thing is to have it wired so that it is always on, even when parked. My wife to the car shopping the other day and whilst parked in the car park some kind person reversed in to the front of our car. Their car had a towing hook fitted it did quite a bit of damage to the lower front of my car. the driver never left left any note but just drove off and parked on the other side of the car park. Fortunately my dash cam was running and recorded the hit and his number plate. The insurance company was quite happy to accept the dash cam footage as proof of his involvement. They also informed the police who also asked for copies of the dash cam footage.

Just a quick update. Stuck a bit of foamy tape between the mount and camera and it’s a bit tighter and doesn’t vibrate anymore.
got another question for you guys. where do I download the official firmware updates and camera updates for the UK?
I can’t seem to find it for the UK. All the links seems to be for US unit. any other links I see is not on the official website just some dodgy looking third party site.
Any of you guys have a link?
Cheers

Just use the US site, that's after all where the original firmware came from :). https://www.thinkware.com/support/faq

That shows how to do all the updates, including region specific speed camera databases.
