Glad got wing off, did mine couple years ago, think I paid under a hundred for the pair from eurocarparts, excellent fit too, sprayed all inside and edges before fitting, really thickly spray underseal inside the arch lip so should alleviate some of the liner rub that causes the rot to set in.
How did you get bolt out in end? Only had one troublesome one which was on the stay bar, so unbolted other end then soaked in wd and a bit of heat.
Had trouble with brass brake union in end of flexi rubber last week, that was a nightmare, couldn't get a good grip as so soft, had to be real cautious with heat as rubber hose and brake fluid in the mix too!!

Used my rear wiper for the first time since fitting the new motor, which I had sat around for 4 years.

it’s really noisy!

My day just got better, delivery just arrived , not as delayed as expected, I've replaced the broken spring a few days ago, practice I suppose.

You must let us know what you think of the difference, when you can get out.
I've just bought a Bilstein B12 kit from a guy on Facebay, but haven't had a chance to collect it yet.

Mine had developed a mind of it's own last year, finally replaced it last month, full of brown goo, so nice having it working again.

Yeah it is good to finally have mine working. It was broken when I bought the car, 4 years ago. I bought the new motor a week later and got round to fitting it........last week :flushed:

Hopefully will fit this week, unfortunately the half mile to Tesco once a week is farthest I've gone for nearly a month, but even the one trip without a broken spring it felt better.
Should lower it 50mm front, 40 rear from memory, put new rear shocks on in December so now all refreshed.

Araldited an Allan key to the bolt. Wd40d it and very slowly worked it out.

Sprayed the inside before fitting them with some isopron stuff so hopefully they survive for a while.

The car had previously been a right off, never been able to find out why until today. The metal hanger the fender hangs off on the near side is massively out of shape so guessing it too a hit on that side at some point.

Has yours got S line suspension?

Got mine for 35 new, was less than a second hand one, so good having a washer jet again, fitted a Q5 wiper and new jet too, also put resistor in light loom while cover off, ( see earlier post.)

Seems VAG had trouble with the inner shield, common on most models of a certain period, polo has pair new wings to go on when can get some paint.
Not tried the alraldite trick, used to weld a nut on the end of mini rear brake adjusters, so could get a decent spanner on and the heat usually frees them up.
Bummer about the hanger, hope doesn't effect refit.

Feel your pain.

Anyone got any tips for extracting corroded T30 bolts. Unfortunately it's not in a position to cut a slot in the top.

Currently planning to araldite an Allan key into it.

Hammer and screwdriver to knock it round?

Agreed , that is allways a good option and one I have used more times that I can remember, just use a decent quality screwdriver with hard blade , not one of those cheapo chocolate ones that just deform .

Oh dear! do you have a helicoil? suppose your have to remove that hard pipe aswell to stop metal going in, what a nightmare.

Not on the car yet, thankfully. Didn't want to fit it without confirming it would be airtight, which it hasn't been.

I think you will find the metal used in production is called chinesium, great for drill bits and much more.

My S Line won't lower so much, bit of a relief really. I'm just hoping the Pro-sport springs aren't too harsh.
What dampers are you using?
I'll look tomorrow, they are in shed.
Spoke to suppliers on phone and it's the ones for my model apparently.
Had pro sport on my clio van, front only as torsion rear, were ok, and a set on the mini clubman with 18s and were as comfortable as standard on 17s, coilovers were too harsh on it so only stayed on for a week.

Not really on the B7 bus but still one of my old buses.

Finished refurbing the landcruiser alloys and with new boots, ready to rock and roll now, well when life is back to some sort of normality that is.
Off to wash the b7 old bus now.

Painted callipers with red paint, and tinted tail lights to medium smoke, not bad effect.

Well, seeing as Robs turned it into what haven't you done on your Audi today, I've been in the garage, started stripping the calipers I've got for a future vw project, found the parts for putting the cassette player back in the mgf, and got a few more bits sorted on the mini, number plate and arches. Also touched up a scratch on the polo too, busy day as I've scraped the creeper off the side of the house too while I could get the ladder out the garage too!

Put mine back together again. In total it's had:

1. New rear bumper (with associated exhaust fail)
2. Pair of new front wings
3. Filled and resprayed front bumper
4. Back in its 18" summer shoes

Took me 3ish days because this was my first time doing any of this. Learnt a lot and am expecially thankful I bought a decent socket set. In future I think I might make sure I've got a selection of Torx bolts and nuts etc. so I could replace rusted ones instead of cannibalising bits from around the place or *cough* using zipties where I could get away with it....

Still haven't installed those recaro seats I bought... So that along with all the door cards and a new window regulator.

I might give myself a couple of days off.

And it needs a wash so i can see if I'm going to need to tcut the old paint. Doesn't look like it ATM but hard to tell with all the dust and grime on it.

Carrying on the theme.
Brick laying my garden wall mostly.
And re-painted my "new" ARB.
And fiddled around with my seat wiring because I've got the old airbag and seatbelt warning lights on.

Yep. At their maximum extent.

Coilovers don't look like they enjoyed the winter. A lot of salt on the roads up here and it shows. I'll be lucky if they die within the 2 year warranty...

First time posting in here. Finally got round to changing the air con pulley. The rubber bushes on the inside of the old pulley were pretty much none existent. New pulley on and no more knocking noises. Have another fault still with the aircon as the ECON light won’t go out. So think I’ve got a leak in the system somewhere.
