Ceramic coating- which one???

Hi all,

Got the car booked in for a detail & ceramic coating. I have a choice of either Feynlab or Max Protect. Which is best/ better??

I cannot find many reviews on MP and I find that frustrating. So please help me

That’s who I’m booked in with. Can you let me know your opinion of MP and why you chose it? What maintenance wash do you do?

Just my opinion on what I had previously.
CQuarts Ceramic Pro and the car finish looked like glass.
Cost was like $2,000.00 US Dollars.







Also to keep it looking new the product below.



Another excellent Tire product that does not spray all over the sides of your car as you drive.

I wouldn’t say I chose it specifically. I contacted Fran after seeing his work.

MP is rubber based, so appears very durable. I tend to use a variety of shampoos, bit string ones like CarPro Reset are recommended to keep coating clear. It is so tough Fran even recommends using fairy liquid to clear away quick detailers and old layers, which is what I did today. My car is a Mythos Black Q5, and coating is a year old.

This was today using only Fairy liquid and nothing else

Still have to be careful mate, but luckily following the idiots at Audi washing it at last service despite signs all over car, seem to ha e got away with it

For me part of the appeal of a ceramic coating is as a top level sacrificial coating. If it gets badly scratched polish it off and start again.

Guys,

I have been watching a lot of videos on Ceramic Coating in comparisons.

The one that seems to be pretty awesome is called CQuartz (Reserve Finest).
The only way you can get that is be a dealer with a (Certified) technician to use it.
It's is very-very expensive but last for years !!!
I'm going to go with it ^^^ this time around on the RS3.
I'm willing to pay more when I get more.

The prep is essential and not inexpensive
Most users dont enjoy detailing

You are spot on, it for any cheap, isn’t scratch proof, and prep is key.

BUT, my coating protected against a dealer washing when they were asked not too, makes maintenance washes SO much easier, and for instance I coated my alloys myself (when I swapped to winters) and now keeping them clean is so so easy, brake dust comes off mostly with initial jet wash.

I think @scotty76 is spot on, ceramic or similar coating is a top layer (sacrificial) layer, that should you have swirls etc, you polish off that section.

As per the below, as my ceramic (Max Protect) is rubber based, can even wash with fairy. And the below has nothing else added to the paint after wash and is a year into the coating (done April 2018). And this wash took me less than an hour (and is a Q5!)

lol straight to the point That is what I was thinking, I understand why people have it done, but then I think "Be careful washing it and if it does get bad either get the DA out or pay someone to do it when needed".

I did look into PPF a few years back but it's £££
