I don’t recognise the plate sorry.

as far as timing chain, it’s meant to be maintenance free.

that’s not to say people haven’t had issues and then replaced parts.

AUDI 8P RS3 SERVICE SCHEDULE

EVERY 2-YEARS:
Change Engine Oil and Oil Filter
Change Brake Fluid
Change Dust and Pollen Filter
Service Air Conditioning unit
Check Front and Rear Lamps
Check Horn
Check Windscreen Wiper and Wash System
Check Wiper Blades
Check Headlamp Wash
Check Tyre Tread Depth/Wear
Check Tyre Pressure Check and Adjust
Check Tyre Repair Canister Date Expiry
Check Brake Pad Thickness
Check and Clean Plenum Chamber and Water Drain Valve
Check Battery
Check Track-rods, Track Control Links, Ball Joints, Guide Bearings, Drive-shafts

Thanks for all the help guys, The garage has moved heaven & earth for me figures wise but after weighing it all up i have decided against buying. It was an old platform when it came out, It would just feel like (albeit faster) version of my previous car, 8P S3. I know it does sound perverse but i want DAB Radio, Stop start etc. Need to wait until i can get an 8v FL

Having had 3x S3’s the Last an 2011 8p black Ed, the RS3 is a different beast.

you can keep the stop start, it’s the first crap I’d turn off ( permanently with vcds)
And my experience if dab radio coverage in other cars has been poor, including the very latest hybrid Mondeos with Sony upgrade audio.

The tech in the 8V is a serious upgrade on the 8P chassis, but there is something special about the 8P in my eyes and a good low mileage 8P RS3 will cost you a lot less in the long run.
I'd have one tomorrow if I didn't need an SUV.
The one you were looking at is seriously nice!

For sure the 8P RS3 is not for everyone, then again, neither is the 8V RS3 which is why we still have what we have.

I appreciate the 8P is a bit of a classic in terms of the 750 build quantity in UK, I was trying to convince myself to do it but i always had this nagging doubt in my mind that i would regret it. Having to change insurance because my current company stipulated a tracker on top of the £1000 insurance. Having to pay £800 for the hand controls for my current disability and a 15k balance to change over my current car were just too many negatives to overcome.

If we all bought cars with our head, we'd be driving around in something bland and nondescript.
All those hidden costs will also still apply to the 8V RS3 too.
Oddly enough I did see an 8P RS3 for sale a few months ago with hand controls!
I guess you have to want it enough to spend £22,5k on a 9 year old car so I can understand, you not thought about an RSQ3 instead?

As you know, Ju, we do have an 8P RS3 in the garage but since we acquired our 8R SQ5 back in March 2019 our 8P RS3 has done a grand total of 300-miles, the SQ5 at 5000 plus! And while I love everything about our 8P RS3, and have to take it out now and again just to evaluate/compare against the SQ5, the SQ5, for us, does more in every way. Makes us laugh, even; such performance from an SUV is more than enjoyable - especially now that the rear end badges have fallen off.

PS: we could but wouldn't purchase an 8V RS3 - same with a 2017/18/19/20 SQ5: sometimes LESS can be an awful LOT more...
