Has anyone put 255/35s on a 19 inch rim on the a4 or S4? I know the A5/S5 came with this setup stock and the 2021 a4/S4 now comes with this but the 16-20 a4/S4 are all 245/35.

I'd like the benefits of the 255/35 (grip, rim protection, comfort, lower price) but worried about clearance and indicated speed. Anyone got any experience?

The current diesel version has gone back to 255 wide, but the previous petrol S4 that I have came with 245 from the factory. I’m sure I’ve seen posts of people running 255, my B8.5 S4 had 255. I just assume it was Audi trying to save money.

could always check width on ‘will they fit’ website, can’t imagine additional width would affect speedo as long as profile doesn’t change

I’ve seen this mentioned before and I think insurance may need to be informed

I put some on my S4 last year, went on no problem & they work out cheaper than the 245/35/19s

Yeah I had a b8.5 with 255/35 19s come to think of it!

By my calculations the tyre will have about a 7mm bigger diameter. I guess that's broadly similar to the difference between new and worn tyres...

Ran them for 20k last year with zero issues..... nothing to worry about and negligible difference to speedo etc.... would’ve had them again this year but couldn’t find them in the brand I prefer

What are peoples thoughts about alignment?

Do you do it on every new tyre set? Is there a go to type of alignment equipment or any old place to align the car?

Interested in your thoughts.

Not unless the set coming off are showing irregular wear .... or unless you know you’ve hit a massive pothole or spend every day crashing over speed bumps

Looks great, I may be in the minority but I like how it looks with a bit of extra meat on the tyres
