A3 8v facelift conversion guide

Yes I have changed a couple of these over for people. If you’re not a diy person or this is your first time having a go, then I’d recommend you don’t go it as it easy to break trims or plastics if you’re not careful.
I fix anything from cars to houses. I'll give it a go. Ive a Merc W204 for 7 years now and maintained it myself and done salvage cars.

I am guessing the console trim top piece to remove then be the area by the shin to unclip or torx screw in position?

Hello, recently fitted xenons to my car, some blind bat drove through red lights and smashed it last week,:gun2: so now thinking to do the facelift conversion as car needs a bumper/ headlight and both wings anyway

anyone know if the facelift headlights are a straight swop over or wiring different?

thanks

It won’t be a straight swap, it’ll require modification.

The red car is mine I have done the conversion and sold the car for good money. I have another one coming in today for a full conversion this comes with the xenons I will let you know what the difference is also I have most the s3 parts for the conversion all for the 5 door sportback but I ended up buying a 3 door 2.0 tfsi if you need help or any info just shout us or if you need any parts happy to help

the red car u converted looks the business, wasn't a fan of red a3's but this is something else with the s3 look especially with black grilles.

im now thinkin just to leave mine standard pfl xenons, as the guy who coded mine wants double as said will take double his time, and mines on a 65 plate so wouldn't look original, just thinkin of repairin it and gettin shod, as been drivin abt in a virtual dash courtesy black edition for last 2 weeks and im hooked on that dash

noticed u fit the pfl rear bumper did it make much difference to your resale price?

ive picked up a 2017 xenon 2day off the bay for 29quid, parts for them fl models are nearly 1/2 price of the pfl's but no use for it now, lookin for a driver side xenon pfl if you have one, don't mind if its got odd mark or scuff as will be fitting flyeye film

thanks

Yeh iv sold that now got a black one now delivered today doing the full conversion including the virtual cockpit. I have a few bits the light u want I do have have a look at the item number on eBay 163983066017

Sorry to dig this up, is thos part numbers for the rear tail missing any thing as when I look on ebay they look like pre facelift lights?

When I search for 8V4 945 093A this looks more like it.

the dynamics led tail lights is another kettle of fish (around £400 + £200 for plugs lol)

Hi Adam

A and C at the end of part numbers on the inner lights, depending on the side you need.

You don’t need to buy the adapters, as you can modify your existing wiring to fit the new Dynamic lights.

.

Hi guys,

I facelifted my car last year and thought it might be useful to share some of the part numbers, as it will be useful anyone wanting to do a similar project. Apologies if any are missing, as i have misplaced some of the receipts.

S3/ s-line front bumper
S3/s-line front panel
S3 front centre grill- 8v4 853 651 ac
S3 front lower outer grills- 8v3 807 681 & 8v3 807 682
Rear Bumper- 8v4 807 067 P
Rear diffuser- 8v3 807 521
Rear exhaust (s3)- 8v4 253 609
Facelift washer jet- not strictly required, but the prefacelift don't seem to sit flush on a FL bumper
Front xenon headlights-8v4 941 006 & 8v4 941 007
Rear Tailights(dynamic)-

.right outer: 8v4 945 091
.left outer: 8v4 945 092
.right inner:8v4 945 093
.left inner:8v4 945 094

Also you will need the connectors for the rear lights for which the part numbers and a guide has been covered by another member on a seperate thread.

Thw conversion itself was quite straightforward, apart from wiring the rear lights which i"m still having issue with and hoping someone on here could assist me with them, who has already undergone the process.

And here is the end result.

If you have those lights you will just need to just extend the wiring loom as the plugs are located in a different place but yes once plugged in they will work fine however you will get a warning light. These will only plug and play if your car has xenon lights if they are halogen then will need wiring and programing. As for the bcm that can be flashed rather than replacing it

Thank you al attach the pic below off the current headlight on the car. An do they look like xenon ? For it to work with just the wiring extensions

Hello all, i know this is an old post but i need help, i did the rear bumper conversion on my 2013 sportback and fitted a Fl s3 diffusor.
The only problem i have is finding the rear reflectors, i found some reflectors for the A3 fl sportback (8v0945105, and 8v0945106) but they do not fit at all.
The shape seems to be okay buy the locking plugs do not fit at all like it not meant to go there.
Can anyone give me a VIN for a Sline Fl sportback or give me the right part numbers as i can not find them

i found some 8v0945106A and they seem to be a little different. Are these the reflectors i need?

Does a facelift s-line diffuser fit on pre-facelight non s-line 8V sportback?
I dont belive so. That clips are different and requires a bump change if I’m correct

Correct, @Toonsoldier91 is right, you have to replace the bumper as well. I have the PFL Sportback non- s-line and went to FL s-line bumper and the diffusers on both are quite different.
@viktorSerbia I have purchased the 8V0945105A & 8V0945106A and they seem to fit on my new bump. So, the ones ending with "A" are for the s-line bump, the ones ending with "D" (same part No.) are for the saloon, and the ones ending without a letter are for the standard bump.... So, basically, yes - for the Fl S3 sportback diffuser, you will need the 8V0945105A as it's a sports diffuser, not standard. Hope I was of help

Thanks to both of you. Will look at the prices to see if worthwhile or I might just stick to pre-facelift s-line diffuser.

Do you know if that would a straight swap? So pfl sline diffuser to pfl sportback.

thanks

Yes it is, but if you are buying a used one, you will have to look for one with mounting liners on it - this is the part in the middle of the bumper that guides it and sticks it into place. It is not sold separately and if you don't have it on the bumper you buy, you will have to take it out from your old one, which is glued. Basically, if you do it by yourself, you will have to know what you're doing, otherwise, you will have to leave it to a car paintshop to get it sorted for you.
I will try posting pics for you later if it stops pouring outside.

So, basically this is what it looked like before and after

Yes, it does, however, I cannot sort out what sz should I get. I am after OZ Superturismo LM, but not sure whether 18s or 19s...
19’s always look better but 18’s a little more comfortable. My choice !!! 19’s all day. :icon thumright:

Just ordinary S3 or RS3 19'' ones.. from ebay or fb market for bargain, you will have orig and cheap ...

You think 18s will fit small? current ones are 17s
18’s will look on but 19’s will just look that much better mate.
