I have a 35tfsi S Line which has the standard issues, electrical/electronic faults and warning lights, jerky engine etc. My dealership recently installed what they said Audi technical deemed to be a complete fix of all these issues. They installed the 90G5 update and I need to inform anyone that is having these issues - be warned when allowing their dealer to install this update.

Since the update not only did it not resolve one single issue it went in with it came out with many more. These are

Loss of sat nav
Loss of cruise control
Loss of Android Auto/any wired service
Loss of Drive Select
MMI worse than ever/sluggish
Bluetooth connection erratic

My dealership says they have also installed this update on some of their own A3's in their inventory to test if this is isolated to my car. However this update has caused the same faults on those too.

I asked if they could do a factory reset and roll back to the old software update but they said this is not possible. That means I'm now stuck with a worse car than the one I sent in and no real fix in sight.

You might want to ask your dealer what software update they are about to upload before authorising it.

It’s took months to get mine working to a reasonable standard, it’s back in on Wednesday for another problem. I’ll be asking them not to do any MMi updates I think .

My cars only been in a few times but it's quite obvious Audi are scrambling around with rushed updates to a massively flawed car. I feel sorry for the poor dealerships that are having to cover/lie for Audi and then taking the flack when customers quite rightly vent their frustrations.

The developers of Cyberpunk 2077 would have done a better job on the electronics and software of this car!

Had the same issue Steve.. and just for all the the peeps getting the software update.

The above happens when the technician working on your car fails to reactivate the user licenses that are linked to the car.. It is NOT an Audi fault its the dealerships failing in fully doing the install correctly.

Anyone that has the above issues, take your car straight back to Audi they will reactivate the settings on the software ( takes 10 mins max)

Hope that helps steve.

The only issue it does not resolve is the erratic bluetooth

Dropped mine off today for some investigation work and a new rear shock absorber and the service team told me they are applying this update , I asked them not to due to above comments and they said the update isn’t for the MMi and won’t effect it.
Time will tell what happens to my car when I get it back.

I picked my A3 Edition1 - manual- 1.5 in Febuary 21, the car was ordered in Nov 20....it is the newer build as it has the 2 x usb-c sockets and a few other minor updates from the original 2019 A3 release, it has the software on the MMI from August2020......
So far no problems, the car has been fine.... the app is not great, but no issues with the car, in fact when I read here I am starting to think I got lucky!!!
My dealer set the car up for me on collection, we just sat in the car with a silly mask on, only downside was Audi could not place the car in the showroom, so it was outside with the sea salt still on it from the ferry crossing!....took me awhile to get it cleaned but once waxed and polished it looked stunning....and does turn heads with its aggressive styling.
I am sure Audi will get on top of these issues now they are back to 100% production, but it is upto your local dealership to deal with this, if they fail to do so then contact Audi HQ and request the car is returned. Many of the new features on the A3 are for safety, if you have a car that is causing errors in other areas then I cannot imagine buyers having faith in the breaking, lane assist and other gizmos to aid driving......so just send it back and say you want to look elsewhere, that should get there attention.

mine was a may 21 build and it too has august 2020 MMI software and I've had one issue in the first 450 miles of the MMI not getting past the user login screen

Audi now tell me that they can rectify this issue by reinstalling the software but it has to be done in sequence. If this isn't followed it will not resolve the issues and cause many more as in my case.

Have you got your car back and have you had any issues?

They can't get mine back in for at least 2 weeks due to not having any loan cars available.

Does this update done correctly reinstate cruise control too? The service manager at my dealership said this was the only function they may not be able to bring back?

How long has yours been issue free since the update ? would you recommended getting it even if you're not having problems often. Im in no rush to get it sorted as i dont mind the odd glitch for now, just dont want it made worse
