A3/S3 delivery lead time?

Original order beg of March but due to certain options being removed the actual order when in towards the end of March

Just a heads up to all of you waiting for a build week.
I've been informed that all build week slots for A3 are full until week 29 and that we should be given one after this date.
Fingers crossed at least that's a little info instead of being totally in the dark

I still can't get even an estimated build date. Ordered in March, fear the worst.

Does it matter what model/spec is ordered regarding the wait? I’ve just put in an order for an S3 Vorsprung Saloon - I’m at the beginning of this long journey!

I’ve ordered A3 Vorsprung 16th April, no build date but advised not to expect delivery until October minimum. I’m ok as given fixed px for my BMW 330d xdrive

The wait times are becoming long to new orders, dealers are now trying to buy back cars to sell them due to the high demand and short supply.

Any one want a vorsprung? ;)

Maybe they’ll hold the value for a little bit until they can meet demand. Love the YouTube Content. Very informative stuff. Your videos made me decide on ordering the Edition 1.

I pick mine up today so thankfully missed out on the long wait due to dealership having a version I was happy enough with.

Thanks buddy! That's a great choice, and not sure if you've seen, it seems like the rs3 has alcantara seats too!

The wait is killing me! Planning on doing the NC500 on September in the s3. Really don't want to do it in my A1!

The wait is bad enough, however the lack of information and customer service from Audi is just shocking. I'm beginning to think they want to **** folk off enough that they will cancel.

interesting...I ordered mine the same time as you but my build dates have been week 46/35/42/36/37.... very random.. I don't believe my extras are on the list that causes delays
It is random isn't it? I've been told now that my car goes into production this week (BW 25). A3 S-Line 35TFSI with comfort and sound pack, lumbar support on the front seats and different wheels.

Seems to be related to certain options/engines. You can tell by the options they have removed from the configurator over the last few months (panoramic roof/matrix LEDs). Vorsprung and edition 1 models will be facing this the worst I'm sure.

Looks like what the are doing, at least for now is supply the “extras” in the Vorsprung models but making unavailable as separate options

I'm lost with it all. My daughter was expecting delivery in May, 30 tfsi sline auto, no extras but still awaits a build slot.

Maybe the auto or 30 engine? (or combination of both).

Unfortunately we can only speculate as to what Audi are prioritising in terms of specifications. They should really just announce exactly what is causing these delays for some.

Totally agree, they should be upfront with people.

I asked them this and if there was any alternative. They didn't respond to the question just said no build slots until after week 29

Yep best piece of advice right here. Even with all the issues on the car.

Treat the customer with respect, we're all human and would understand.

good news I envy you...lol... I ordered a TFSI 35 S Line with the flat bottom steering wheel/Diamond cut alloy wheels/ambient lighting.... none of these extras are causing delays

With some of the stories on here, I am surprised.
For info (i know there's been talk of which models/trim/engines/options were affected the most) I ordered a S3 C&S, which double spoke alloys, extended light pack, audi phone box, Advanced key and space saver. originally build week 20, was pushed to build week 21. Fingers crossed Audi step up and get everyone their cars sooner than expected.

My situation is different, ordered in early Dec 2020, car arrived in UK end April (originallly supposed to arrive in mid-March). I'm out of country for a bit, so they will hold the car for me up till end July (they said they can only do 3 months hold max, before they need to put through a new finance via Lex Auto again). Mine was just bog standard 30 TFSI MHEV Sport with C&S and no other options.

when did you place your order?
Ordered beg of March but then found out I couldn't get the matrix headlights, so the actual order was confirmed towards the end of March. TBH i think they already had a car in the system and I just configured it the way I wanted.

Has anybody that has had their car built recently know how long it took Audi to build the car? I got this message from Audi twitter today and I was under the assumption cars were built in a week? Or was I being naive?!

Hi. The order shows as beginning production week 26, and the current estimated timeframe in which we expect production to be complete is currently 4 week. We therefore anticipate production will be complete by the beginning of week 30, which commences 26th July.

Can't see it taking 4 weeks, although to be fair Audi seem to drag their feet with everything. When did you place your order?

Yeah I did think it was usually quicker than that, unless they are aware of a slowdown right now?

I ordered 31st March.
