I thought Jassy post had passed people by.... I read it and was like...."what did he say."..I thought he must have been joking when no one reacted to it.

I made the mistake if checking up how much tyres would cost on the new RS3 this morning.. after a discussion on tyre widths on another thread...that depressed my all day but I'm adopting the Guinness approach..........Good things come to those who wait (I want some red trim or red brake calipers and I'm not paying Audi a penny until I can get them).

Missed this post until @AndyVWR pointed it out. Always thought you would get one after your “missed” one back in 2017. Kyalami Green, nice Thought you would stick blue and go….not turbo, but riviera or a bright Orange. Or at least a metallic as opposed flat colour

Ok on the fronts 265/30 it appears Michelin don’t do any so Goodyear Eagle F1 are £186 fitted.
on the rear 245/35 are about £166 per corner.
Probably for all you previous RS3 owners that doesn’t sound too bad, but my 18” tyres for Golf R are £100 per corner

Same here think I paid £110 a corner for my S3 for the P zero's .
It is a big jump in price when your use to around £400

Sounds like a bargain to me, 21” tyres for my previous M40i were about £320 each. Funny enough I got rid before needing to replace

i do recall that post now but didn’t think Jassy had actually ordered one ... it was a big turnaround from previous comments but tbf I grew to like the 8y if not at first so probably similar mind sets ... must be as he’s gone for the best model: saloon in carbon ;)

good on you @jassyo06 ive always said you need to try a RS3, I’m sure you’ll love it mate, even in muppet green lol :icon thumright:

Agreed, this is what Audi quoted for my RS5 - funny that, i didn’t keep it either
TBH you could knock at least £100 a corner off from tyre fitters, but still :wtf:

March but TBC
Until we get estimated build weeks it is impossible to even predict. The dealers are probably just grabbing dates out of thin air based on the back log they have now; it could get worse or it could get better.

When I ordered my current RS3 in August 2017 I had to wait until the end of October for a build week; which was mid-January and it arrived in February 2018. That was pre-pandemic, pre-shortages etc. I would therefore expect that no one should imagine getting their RS3 before February.

But I absolutely hope I am wrong!

but now you don't and want to part with £50k odd for one? :thumbs up:
Jassy isn't on is own thinking the 8y S3 was no improvement on the facelift 8v S3 .
I wasn't impressed one bit with the 8y S3 either .
And it hasn't taken you long to move your 8y S3 on either

True but only moving on for reasons not related to how I feel about the S3. RS3 has always been the dream for me, in fact the S3 was the dream for me at one point. Never thought I'd be able to afford an S3 never mind RS3, but as I eluded to in the other thread - used car market at the moment has helped with the positive equity on my S3 to be able to make the jump to the RS3. Without that it probably wouldn't have been possible in terms of securing the spare cash for deposit.

The RS3 8Y is an upgrade from a 8Y S3
Faster
Looks far better
Should sound far better? It's more expensive though £10,000 more than a 8Y S3 and so it should be
My TTS is an upgrade over a 8Y S3
Built better/higher standard of materials used inside
Faster/more power
Better looking
Sounds better
£10,000 more expensive list price over a S3 Vorsprung Saloon so it should be better l had 2 S3's before the TTS....so it was time to move on from them especially when the 8Y S3 was so dissapointing

hahah. In all honesty I really can't fault it.

The pops/bangs sound way better on the 8Y. I've also not suffered with the MMI issues others have. My only gripe with the entire car is some of the materials are crap. The gearbox tunnel in particular is horrible plastic and the bottom of the door cards etc. It's a lovely looking car but the RS3 is the icing on the cake.

The UK configurator has been updated, had a response to my email from Audi UK and have just checked. On Vorpsrung models, you can now select RS Adaptive Suspension as an option (?) and the Dynamic Pack. Haven't checked any other changes yet.

EDIT - Yep, they've pulled Adaptive Suspsension from the Vorpsrung and it's now an option

Yes I got the same reply, it now looks like a Vorsprung will end up about £64k which is too much, absoluts farce, it now looks like the Vorsprung does not come with adaptive suspension and this can be added for £1175.............except it cant without you also add the Dynamic package at £5000...............complete and utter shambles to be honest, they can stick both the car and their configurator up...........................

Not sure where I stand to be honest (although I suspect). Option code PDE is shown on my confirmed order, which is Adaptive Suspension, but on its own that would be an incomplete spec based on the latest configurator.

I'm going through a broker, and they charge £50 admin fee for everything, so even asking them to query with the dealer is going to be difficult.

The information tag still says Adaptive suspension is std on Vorsprung, the additional package suggests it isnt, the additional Adaptive suspension package can not be ordered without the Dynamic package which also includes the sport exhaust which is still std under the information tag, as is the drive select under the base model which is an extra under the Vorsprung model..................Much clearer now ive explained it :blahblah1:

OMG this will cause a hell of an uproar for those already having placed an order ... if the Dealers do not honour the price agreed - including the adaptive suspension.

RS adaptive is still showing as included/standard on the vorsprung (in the Safety & Technology section of the configurator), without having to add the £1,175 RS adaptive equipment package.

They've updated it again, now shows Adaptive as Std (ticked option) on the model selection page. What is going on????
