Personally I would swerve a ghost alarm. The idea is good, but in reality as much as you love your cars.... its just not worth the hassle. If they cant start it..... you are inviting them into your home. My brother experienced this first hand. Had a rs3 saloon 2017. Lived in a first floor flat which was electric gated.my brother said he was stiring and thought he heard his car attempt to start but thought he ws dreaming. Hes a deep sleeper. His girlfriend was woke up with a flash light in her face by a masked crook. When she realised what was going on she woke my brother. He jumped up and the bloke had already gone. They had a one month old in thwir room and a 3 year old in a room on the other side of the flat. He ran into the living room and they had forced the Juliet balcony door open. My brother went running to the window. The bloke was already down the ladder. All the doors were open on his car. Baby seats thrown across the car park. Electric gates rammed open by a stollen new bmw estate. There were 4 BIG blokes masked up. They attempted to start it again. With the key. Still wouldnt start. My brother closed the window. They all looked up at him then made way to the flat entrance. They broke into the security door. Made their way upto his flat. They crow barred his door open. It popped open. My brother in his pants wedged his foot ontp the bottom of the door to stop it opening with 4 of them pushing it. He doesnt know how he kept them at bay. Eventually the noise made them fall back and go. My brother and his family moved out the next day.
Imagine what would of happened if they got in? They was coming for him. To start the car. At what cost. Its just a piece of metal.
All of this.... because of a
GHOST IMMOBILISER.

The Ghost immobiliser is a good piece of kit but it's good to have visible deterrents as well like a disklok and an anti ram raid security bollard.

A simple hidden cut out switch is always a good back up and costs next to nothing

Not nice but a rare event. I'd rather have it than not.

I think we could brush it off as a rare event. Unfortunately i know of atleast three people excluding that event who has had people in their house due to the car either having a ghost fitted, or their key in a pouch. These scumbags dont care. They want the car. They have a buyer. Each to their own though. Guess some of us prefer to learn the hard way.

Just be sure. If they have gone through the effort to stake out the car. Follow the car and be in your front garden at the car. They know the keys are behind one door. They are coming in. As harsh as that sounds. They are committed at that point.

If you purchase a kill switch then conflict will arise. If you are not comfortable defending yourself or others then don’t get it. I always follow a Latin saying
Si vis pacem para bellum
