RS3 countdown to configurator

Weird, apart from cold start, any one I have heard been dead quiet
My unbiased view is this sounds OK for an S3, nothing like an RS3 but then it wont.
What I do like about this video is the colour on an 8Y

ive seen that video before & thought exactly the same ... an 8y saloon RS3 carbon edition in Daytona would look awesome imo :whistle2:

I toyed with that configuration but I had a Daytona S3 and it looked nothing like any of the other Daytona's I seen before including my mates ones in the work car park. Mine was easily a few shades lighter and it put me off it.

LOL When driving past it sounds the same; we can’t rev it obviously but everyone should realise we haven’t heard any driving reviews that weren’t the prototype yet.

It is logical to assume Audi have done something to make it sound better than the OPF 8V.
By the laws laid down by the EU it wont sound better as it can't go as loud nor will it pop n bang/fart
and if my memory serves me correctly the 8v pfl RS3 sounded the more aggressive than the 8v fl RS3

The 8Y S3 pops and bangs and farts so why wouldn't the RS3?

Also in reference to your comment about the PFL RS3 sounding more aggressive, good comparison here between an OPF RS3 (OPF removed) with the DNWA engine, against a pre facelift car iron block and then a TT RS with DAZA engine. If I'm being totally honest I think the DNWA car sounds the better one of them all.

Yes but that is standard pfl exhaust v illegally modded facelift exhaust its a pointless comparison

Have you never gone above the speed limit? ;) I know what you're saying but it still sounds better lol. Mine won't be kept stock anyway.

Bit baffled by the speed limit bit not sure what you are on about there ? Your comparisons don't make sense at all surely stock pfl 8v v stock facelift 8v is fair or both modded but stock v modded isn't . I personally wouldn't modify a car I don't own .

Exactly l wouldn't modify a car l rent either although.....l have heard young Matt former member on here S3 fl 310 ps and it sounded deeper on start up than my S3

I read the 8y section...and you where the only person who could get pops n bangs out of your S3 your opinion is all over the place with 8y's sound ...eventually you said it was ***** a few posts back now it sounds like Astra fireworks ...the 8Y S3 sounds pants it's a well known fact. l got a few pops n bangs from my TTS "different tune from the 8Y 310 ps ea888 engine" as did my son with his 320 ps TTS but it's not in the same league as my fl 310 ps same engine as your 8v FL S3

I'm happy with how my 8Y sounds, I've always been defensive over them. My 8V had a res delete with valves unplugged as does my 8Y and I still think the 8Y is the better sounding car. I'm also definitely not the only one who gets pops and bangs from it lol - the auditography video above shows them on a standard car with valves standard and no res delete.



This video here shows them, and in the comments the author echoes my thoughts. Overall a bit quieter than the 8V but the pops and bangs are better/louder.

A 4cyl car will never sound anything other than pretty mundane, or like the local 17yr old with a loud exhaust on his Vauxhall Corsa, our Golf R sounds 'deep' with valves open and does have muffled over run pops once you wind it up a bit, but it all becomes insignificant when the bloke starts his RS3 up the other side of the petrol pump
