MMi SD Card/Navigation problem

Hi all,
Newbie to this forum as I recently bought my A4 2.0TDI in mid June and I'm the 2nd owner from new, when I collected the vehicle the SD card was missing, apparently it dropped out of the envelope!
In the meantime I'm removing the 'SD card not installed' every time I start the car from the display. So a number of weeks later after back and forth correspondence this SD card arrived and I plugged it in, it now initialises to 25% and shows the message 'The Nav Data are not enabled'.
So phone calls back and forward reveal that the previous owner had paid extra to have apple play installed in the car (there's an extra USB in the armrest tray) that was their response anyway?? All well and good, but I don't have an iPhone and I don't wish to as I'm quite happy with my Samsung A71, with this ive had to download anroid auto so i can at least get google maps on my MMi screen.
This is where i would like some help with my questions or signposted in the right direction before going to Audi and possibly getting stung for them doing next to nothing to get my navigation or SD card working, yes I could go back and see this guy who I originally dealt with but with the nonsense over this SD Card in the first place I think my patience wouldn't hold out.
Can you reset the MMi navigation system back to factory systems so that it accepts the SC card and restores the cars navigation?.
Audi connect states that the license has expired, I've read somewhere here on another thread that you can email them and they will extend the license? will they extend for a new owner?
Yes its great to have these apple play features, that said all i want is the main features restored that came with the car and if I require plug my phone in to use additional features.

When you are next with the vehicle do the following and post a photo here:

- select and hold NAV and then within 1 sec also press and hold media, and after approx 10 secs the update menu will display
- browse to activations, which will display a list of numbers
- take photos and post

From these numbers I can let you know 1) what’s activated and 2) what maps (years) you can use.

I've done what you said and found activation keys? Hopefully those are the numbers you require? I'll attach the photos in running order and the current software it's running.
You will notice 2 sets of numbers because there was one I had to scroll down to ie: ending in 60900

What you have been given is 2017 Navigation data but your licence / activation is only until 2016/2017, ie the card before this one.

To further explain audi’s stupid system, they release two navigation updates a year. One is a full release and the other is a crossover / interim release, so the scheme is basically as follows:

- 2016
- 2016 / 2017
- 2017
- 2017 / 2018
etc etc

Licence / Activation data for your Media System would look like this:

02300014 = 2016
02300016 = 2016/2017
02300018 = 2017
0230001a = 017/2018

You have been supplied the wrong card in short and you have two options:

1) ask the dealer to supply or indeed source the correct card yourself
2) visit someone like myself that can fully activate your licence for any data

Brilliant DJAlix, this is the kind of information that i need, i will be asking the lunatic that i was dealing with for the correct card now based on your information and i'll see what he says, failing that and he doesn't come up with the correct card, how much will you charge for your services to correct this and fully activate this license for any data (and will this action be a one off cost)?

I am new to this and would really appreciate your opinion on my question. I got a Q5 2011 version and from I have researched so far I am on the mmi 3G low/basic version. please see picture attached. All I'm interested in is to be able to play music of my android smartphone via Bluetooth and have updated maps which I understand is only possible with the 3Gplus mmi. Is this correct? And do you do such updates? What are the risks etc. And last but not least how much would you charge for something like this.
