A3/S3 delivery lead time?

I’ve been pushed back again. I’ve had week 42, 46, 49, then it was briefly brought forward to week 44, however my latest update today is build in January of next year. Ordered in March so as it stands it’s looking like a full year from order to delivery for me.

Yeah man I reckon it’s the same for me too because I’ve got no build week and ordered in February which model and spec did you order

Ordered my 8Y 35TFSI 6-Speed S Line with Steel Grey upholstery in Ibis white, Y-spoke alloys and the flat bottomed steering wheel on lease on the 21st July. Took the broker a while to sort everything out as they were transitioning to a new order system else it would've been ordered earlier.

Been given an estimate of 5 months for a lead time and delivery at some point in January. Looking less optimistic as the weeks go on, especially reading articles/forums, I have yet to receive a build date, and also not expecting one any time soon.
Will post when I receive anything else.

Hmmmm... not the end of the world,But not great! I'm going to ask for an update tomorrow

Where are you getting that information from?
An Internet search of Audi production delays brings forward all the information you could possibly need!

That's shocking! What's your spec?

I’ve ordered S3 saloon, comfort and sound, pan sunroof, ambient lighting. I think it’s the pan sunroof causing my delays given the fact you can’t spec it anymore unless it’s the Vorsprung

That’s not bad I was given week 39 unconfirmed but went to 47 46 42 and now I’m on 0 I’ve order a diesel edition 1 I’m told by the dealer that these a holt on Diesel engines and has advised me to go for a petrol but I prefer diesel low down grunt
I would stick with the diesel. I ordered the Edition 1 petrol and also remain at 0. Ordered March, was given estimated build week 36 for two days then back to 0. Apparently there is no issues with petrol?
Personally I think Audi are in such a state at the moment and I no longer know who to believe.

Car has been in production for over 4 weeks now, today's update is "it's still not complete and is currently on hold, we can't give you anymore information at this time, please try contacting us again next week." Honestly sick to death of this, i'm currently without a car with no end in sight. Tired and bored of the it now and I feel like the joy has been sucked out of the whole thing. Such a disappointment.

Oh and guess what? I've still had 0 correspondence from Audi since I ordered the vehicle.

I feel your pain. I'm also without a car. Sold mine on the promise of a week 28 build which has been and gone. Your dealership can't give you any information as the factory is shut down till September. This is my first new car and honestly it has been such a bad experience. There's days when I just want to give up and cancel the order

Mine's now at the port in Grimsby awaiting transportation to the dealer. When I ordered the car back in May (7th) the dealer said the expected delivery would be early September and, that's how it's panned out.

Got a week off work next week. I think I will checking out the Mercedes and BMW showrooms in my area. I then need to get my £1000 "non-refundable" deposit back from Audi. Enough is enough!

Don’t blame you, what a joke!

I know we're all having a good moan here, but it's just the same with most other manufacturer's. The thing that's really getting to me is the **** poor updates for Audi, they honestly couldn't care less and nobody has a clue... the only way to even get an update is to contact them first! If I hadn't contacted Audi each time myself, I would have heard nothing from them... it's honestly appalling. You get better updates from a ****** £5 Amazon parcel, never mind a £30k luxury car!

Not so sure about that. Father in law ordered a Mini Countryman in April, collected end of June. I have ordered a JCW in early July, set for W/c 27th Sept delivery. From what I have seen VAG seem to be the worst at the moment

Hello everyone, I've been following the thread for a little while, I come from different region (I think that might effect delivery times?), I've ordered beefy spec of A3 Saloon mid July, they've removed Phone Box and estimate delivery early November, with a build week of 41, unconfirmed. Anyone knows why all of this is so messy, should I expect some pushbacks? Initially the car was meant to be here early December.

You’re one of the lucky ones! Ordered mine 30th March for June/July! Won’t be here until October

Latest update from Audi (via twitter) is no change to my draft build date... still week 47

I guess if the stars align there's a outside chance I could have my hands on the car before the end of the year.
Yep. I'm build 47 and also hoping to get it before end of the year!!

Yep.. could be a Xmas present. I've
accepted this very frustration situation and trying to be patient as I don't want any other car. (Although the dealership will be copping an earful when I finally collect the car)

I ordered an A3 Sportback 1.5 150ps S-Line Auto with comfort & sound, y spoke alloys and flat bottom steering wheel on January 9th and was quoted late March early April for delivery. This was through a leasing company but ordered from an Audi dealer somewhere in Essex.
My car at the time was going back at the end of March so that timescale was perfect.

In March I got an email to say that Audi had confirmed my order. Wait, I thought my order was placed in January ???
Next email stated late April for delivery so I extended my lease another month to fit in.
My car at the time was collected but no new A3 turned up.
Then it started, delivery delayed until June, then a ‘confirmed’ build week 27 with delivery in July so I had to go out and buy a temporary car for £1k to get around in.

No car in July and the next emails gave me 3 dates in August, still no car.
Yesterday I got an email to say it is currently ‘In build’ and ‘expected’ at the dealer by 29th September, or earlier.

How can I have a ‘confirmed’ build week of 27 but it’s not built. Is that not what confirmed means ?
Anyway, whether it’s in build now or yet another date plucked out of thin air who knows.
I have been going to cancel for weeks but kept thinking ‘I will give it another week’ but how long can you go on like this.
The only thing keeping me from cancelling is that the deal when I ordered was ridiculously cheap and it’s now well over £100 month more.
So I still don’t know if it’s being built, if it’s still delayed or if it will ever be built.
What a carry on.

Exactly in the same boat. My three month extension of my current car ends next month and the factory still hasn't confirmed any sort of date- status, at factory awaiting confirmation. The only reason I have not cancelled is the fact I can't find anything else I like in stock.

Omg ...

Doesn’t bode well for the rest of us also. Ordered April and eventually told confirmed build week 37 but have that suspicion it won’t happen. Never contacted or kept up to date by my dealer, I end up doing all the chasing. To be fair this was also the case with my 3 previous BMW,s, dealers seem to forget you’re about to spend thousands once they have your signature

Undoubtedly Audi are experiencing delays in production due to global parts shortages. However, the cynic in me thinks some dealers could be swapping allocations to increase margins for a particular month. For example, I negotiated a pretty healthy discount on an Edition 1. It was confirmed for build week 30. My dealer has told me it's been delayed. The worry is that the dealer may decide to give that allocation to another customer that's willing to pay full price and give me an allocation that's later down the line. Basically those getting cars quickest will be those where the dealer is making the biggest profit margin.

As much as I'd like to say that's nonsense, a similar thought went through my head not long ago. I would be willing to put money on the RS and higher value cars have been flying through the production line.

It'll be interesting to see how quickly the first RS3's hit the road.... As they're a completely new car, and in reality should be at the back of the order list, but I highly doubt it!

Just found this after reading up on Audi extended holidays and reduced working hours

In July, CFO Jürgen Rittersberger warned that problems with semiconductor supplies could lead to further production shutdowns and reduced working hours in August and September. Upon delivery, the chips will preferably be used in vehicles with the highest profit contribution and lowest emissions.

No, still 0 at factory, which is really annoying. I have lost all interest and atively looking for something else. Audi and I are about to part ways, which is a shame as this would have been Audi no 6. Their customer service really let's them down. Appreciate what Audi have told you, however I know people who ordered the exact same spec as myself after me and now have their vehicle. Its just a lottery I'm afraid.

Yes mate so true I have also been looking around for alternatives such as bmw and Mercedes you can get a 1 series but personally don’t think there that great tbf and the a class has crap wheels and don’t offer an upgrade with bmw there is a chance of getting the car of your choice within a reasonable timescale but Mercedes is the same as Audi to be perfectly honest long delivery dates I just really enjoy a Audi and that’s the only reason why il wait but like your saying orders after use got there cars and where still waiting it’s ******** man

Just received this 20 min ago

After liaising with our Product Marketing Team, I can confirm that the vehicle has a confirmed build week of 37, 13 September 2021. This means that if this is confirmed, the vehicle should arrive at the selling Audi Centre by week 43, 25 October 2021.

For further information, I would recommend speaking to the supplying Audi Centre, as they can provide you with an up to date estimate of how long you can expect to wait.

When did you place the order and what spec did you go for?

I get my car on Friday. I'll post a picture or two on here just to show that Audi are still making and delivering the odd car. I feel very lucky given what some of you are going through. My dealer told me that, because they can't control the semiconductor situation, Audi are prioritising the popular models in what is a damage limitation exercise (p1ss fewer people off). Which doesn't make sense to me. Surely, they'd satisfy the oldest orders first? However, my experience suggests not given a lot of you on here ordered sometime before I did.

Same order for me, but I have extended lighting instead of lumbar support. Hoping mine won't be a million miles behind you. I ordered mid June

My order is very similar to yours and I ordered 9th January.
Strange how orders for the same or similar spec are arriving out of sync of when they were ordered.
It does make you wonder if certain dealers get preferential treatment.

Pretty sure that is the case…certain dealers get preferential, not not something that would likely be admitted, but larger chains will

Audi Live Chat are telling me vehicle has been in production since w/c 5th July and repeatedly telling me "it can take up to 2 weeks to complete" obviously taking this from a script and not realising it is now a few days off of being 2 months!!! The Dealership are advising that they anticipate the vehicle will be with them at the end of September so I'm not sure why I'm getting 2 different answers when I ask for an update?

I ordered my car on 26th June and I’ve now got a confirmed build week starting 6th September. I’ve had this week unconfirmed since the week after I put my order in and hasn’t changed once.

Hopefully that means I’ll get my car mid-October!

I ordered an Edition 1 35 TFSI S-tronic with the Comfort and Sound Pack.

My dealer is part of the Sinclair Group.
