A3/S3 delivery lead time?

Is anyone else having trouble in getting a response from Audi UK on Facebook or twitter?

They eventually got back to me today… response below:
“Good afternoon. We have checked your order again and this is still waiting to be assigned a build date, all we can advise you is to keep checking the progress of this with us. Thank you for your patience.”
Not a happy bunny at the moment…

I would say that you might see the car by the end of the year.
If your lucky
Lots have had the same response for months on end including myself.
They literally keep you in the dark

Yep, that’s what I’m assuming. If I am lucky. I know it’s not exactly Audi’s fault but it’s just so damn annoying. “No build date” four months in…

Have you ever had a build date? Or they've stripped it recently?

Nope, never had one. It took them 2 hrs to accept the order and more than four months to work out when they might (not) build it. Dealer seems to know less that I do!

The situation isn't their fault but the fact that they literally don't tell you anything and arnt honest when people are placing orders is not fair on honest buyers.
Took me 7 months for a build date

Keep the faith guys...

I ordered on 12th Feb, it has been a torturous journey of ups and downs with build weeks - then confirmed build and two weeks of no idea where it was, and then last Wednesday completely out of the blue it landed at the dealers (they were surprised as well!) - I took delivery on Friday, and it was worth the wait, if only I could turn the driver assists off that is!

This forum has helped to keep me sane through this year and knowing I was not alone - best of luck with you and yours!! View attachment 242255
I can

So……after 3+ months of waiting for a build slot for my S3 I’ve cancelled my order. I know that others have been far more patient, but the likelihood is that I wouldn’t have been seeing the car until at least March 2022 and that simply doesn’t work.

I’ve moved onto buy an ex-demo S4. Picking up in 5 days.

I don't blame you!

Best of luck with the new car :racer:

I have thought about cancelling mine but used cars are going for as much as new ones and once these over inflated prices drop the cars value will plummet.
I think there will be a lot of people in big negative equity once prices drop.
I just wish I had cancelled weeks ago as there were some good offers on alternatives then and they were available quickly. Not any more though !

Anyone want to put bets on my car not being at the dealership on 4th October?? No updates for over 2 weeks and now this.

Ordered on the 9th of April and I have honestly given up hope of seeing it this year!!

Mine was ordered 30th March with a confirmed BW 28. I think I seriously Pee’d off my sales advisor - he is emailing Audi for any update now.

Apparently my Audi Centre has e mailed Audi direct, makes no difference. Mine ordered in March, still awaiting confirmation at factory. Trying to source a BMW now. Good luck

Just had my update. Gone back to 25th October at the dealership. Fuming is not the word!

I have just had an email sent after asking what is going on with my car ordered 9th January.
Initially due April then May then June then July, Then 3 dates in August with a ‘confirmed’ build week 27, then they said 15th Sept then three weeks ago it was ‘in build’ and due at the dealer 29th sept.

Todays email,
Hi Ian,
The dealers have confirmed the vehicle is status 20 Build confirmed – BW 27.

Now BW27 was my initial build week which was July. What the hell does this mean ?
No explanation or anything.

Anyone have a clue how it can be BW27 when that was 2 months ago.
This is doing my head in now, I wouldn’t care I had the chance of a BMW 128ti at a great price and in stock. Now no stock and the prices have shot up.

Yeah all they do is contact the internal sales department which Audi Uk

I called Audi Uk today and have advised that my order has been allocated week 44 but they said that the sales department allocated the build week so whatever that means

Very interesting...... I'm on a PCP deal. The only positive coming from these lead time delays is that the car I'm using as Part exchange is significantly increased in Value.... my car was initally valued at 10k with circa 9.5k left to pay on the settlement balance.... now WBAC have valued the car at £13.1k and the settlement balance is reduced to circa 8k.... quids in. However by the time my new Audi is ready who knows what the used car market will be in??? (Although I can't see it changing anytime soon)

Don't think it's as easy as that..lol especially if you want the new shape

Ok, so I’ve had a right ordeal.

-Ordered my car on the 11 December 2020.
- The order was accepted 22/01/21 by the factory.
- It went into production in week 27 - wc 5/07/21
- arrived in Emden on 05/08/21
- shipped from Emden on 17/08/21
-arrived at Grimsby on 19/08/21
-arrived at the dealer on 25/08/21 drove away on the 27/08/21!!!
I felt sorry for my sales rep as he must be getting it from all angles, and in the end I was pressing Audi for info, I know I’m not the only one and it isn’t the dealers fault it’s Audi it’s self, in return I got a full tank and some mats.
When the car arrived it was lovely, great to drive, looked good and turned heads.
HOWEVER IT DOESN'T END THERE
4 days later a dreaded message appeared on the dash “Vehicle Start System Fault; Contact Workshop” the car would start, but sometimes it might take a few attempts but the message still appeared.
I thought.. ok, it’s under warranty I’ll give my dealer a call and take it in but I was told there isn’t any availability until the end on September and I had to ring road side assist and they will deal with it.
I did that the AA arrived, he plugged in his diagnostic computer and I was told the cars too new so no details are coming up? Then I had to get a VW assist bloke who came out to my drive the next day and he said there is a fault but he is unable find it and he told me to take it to the dealer and that he’s made an urgent appointment for me (which I wanted to do the day before, I’ve lost a day at this point) and I will get a courtesy car when I get there.

I take it to the dealership and they said I have to wait a day for them deem it unroadworthy before they send a hire car out for me (I would like to say I’m an extremely patient person but by this point I had enough of the red tape world we live in). The fella from the service department couldn’t believe the vw assist guy sent me on my way as it could cut out at any point on the motorway to my dealership.
So I stayed firm, I work, I have to take my little lad to school and needed a car so they gave me a Q2 after 2 hours of waiting until the hire car is arranged.
So it’s been a week since I got the ball rolling about getting my new Audi A3 fixed. I’ve since been told “it’s looking like a big job, we can’t find the fault we will have to take the engine out and look at the wiring”.
I waited almost 9months, I had it for 4 days and no sign of it back anytime soon.
Will we meet again one day???who knows??? No ones does??? What a joke!!!!

If i Just taken delivery of a new car and was then told it would need the engine removed id reject it in an instant. obviously depends on your circumstances and you clearly need a car so one option would might be to reject and ask the dealer to find you another whilst you keep this one.

plenty of threads on here from 8y owners who have successfully gone through the rejection process - well worth a read to see what options you have

HI all. Not been on here for years but managed to get a new Edition 1 as the local dealer had one come in so snapped it up straight away. Collect Thursday once it’s all registered etc.

Exchanging my A4 S-Line 2017 on my PCP so seems I got lucky timing wise and wanted to downsize. Edition 1 is basic spec with no add ons. But looks awesome. Photo taken isn’t the best as car was dirty. But will be all sorted when I collect Thursday.

I ordered a A3 Edition 1 with comfort and sound pack on the 2nd of Feb. Was told week 29 but it has kept going up and now week 38. Have been in touch with Audi through Facebook and been told it still has not been confirmed. The usual message about component parts shortage. I wish they would just say what is exactly happening rather than just keep fobbing me off.

I think the component part shortage is the genuine issue.. mixed in with Audi's mismanagement.

Congrats. Edition 1 is anything but basic on a standard spec level though. Its pretty well equipped as standard. I’m still awaiting mine. Hopefully it’ll be before the end of this year.

Sorry yes. Didn’t mean it like that. Although no Qi charging. Not sure if that was meant to be standard E1 but sales guy said that they have been stopping certain extras due to the chip shortage.
excited as have had A3 before and just love them. Althogh my A4 was lovely spce too (it’s the blue one in the background) just love these new shape A3’s.

From what I understand it’s the C&S, pan roof, wireless charging and power tail gate which have been causing issues. None of which I had optioned. I live the look of the new A3, never had Audi so I’m pretty excited about this one.

I've got my Sport trim with C&S, thus far after two months besides the SOS ping at the same spots, it hasn't thrown up any tantrums yet. Maybe one of the lucky ones...wonder if there are any Sport / Technik trim A3s here and if they have any grelims yet.

Yes the component parts is a real issue but it’s the constant chasing up for answers. Just feel it could be handled a lot better. Just really frustrated with it all now.

Do you just use Facebook messenger to get in touch with Audi ?
I need to know if my car is BW27 ( July ) and it’s at stage 20 how isn’t it here and why is it at stage 20 which as far as I know means it’s not built yet ?
