Replacing Front Audi Emblem on 2021 S3 Vorsprung

yeah ive seen the genuine ones, bit steep for just a badge, i was hoping there was an alternative, yes i mean the front badge thats why i mentioned trying to pop the badge out from behind the grill, im hoping someone has already done this,

i got 8v black badge wich is cheaper then 8y and will have tomorrow grill to test it

Looks nice from a distance but it was a pain to get the old one off, damaged the right part of the grill I ended up pulling it apart to get it off, also the black badge I got off ebay had 2 extra tabs on the inside part of the badge with nowhere to go so had to snap them off, but the fit is good, good luck if you want to get the old badge off without damaging either badge or grill.

So do the clips not just push down from the back like most of that type do ?
Sounds a right pain to do when mine arrives.
Is the rear badge 192mm x 68mm ?

yes they push in from the front and push through to the back and clip in, the badge is very soild'ly clipped in, i broke the old badge up to get it off, any kind of leverage to get the badge off would of definitly bent out the grill surround, as for the back i ordered mine from ultimate customs, https://www.ultimatecustomsuk.com/products/audi-rear-black-badges?_pos=2&_sid=87f9863f5&_ss=r, to be honest because its stuck on you can use any size badge i guess, i'd prefer a smaller badge if i had of thought about it earlier, lots of sticky to get off, and yes the badge is 1922 x 68.

They wont fit rear boot its curved not flat like 8v

Same question here. I was able to remove the chrome grill rings (by basically destroying them), but I’m not sure where to start with the S3 grill badge.

Anyone have any advice on how to do this without damaging the grill?

Cheers,
Brad

That just requires a little squeeze on each side and pull forward - Well that's how I got mine out - It doesn't have the clips like the rings

Thanks - What did you use to squeeze? A flathead screwdriver?

My fingers - I just grabbed each side as best as I could and gripped and pulled it out and then pushed the new one in

Thanks -- I can't get my fingers on the actual clip, as it's secured inside the grill housing. Were you pushing on the grill housing itself, and then you pulled forward on the badge?

No, I managed to grab the side of the badge and sort of squeezed and pulled - It came out quite easily really

Ok, thanks for the responses - I need to spend some more time looking at it and fiddling around. Just to confirm - this is on a S3 8Y, right?

Great, thanks for confirming. Exactly the same grill layout as the 8Y saloon over here. I'll mess around with it some more, but glad to hear that there's an easy method for this that doesn't involve removing the grill!

Yes, easier than removing the rings as well - They were more trouble to avoid any scratching

Indeed - that's what I was fearing, and I'm glad to hear that it's nothing like that! I spent about an hour on those, and ended up basically destroying the existing chrome rings, but luckily no damage to the grill.

I broke mine as well and that was after getting behind and bending the clips

@Sparks43 -

Thanks to your guidance, I was able to apply a little more force to the right-hand side of the emblem, and it popped right off! Thanks again - that saved me a lot of time and worry :)

Be careful on dimensions.

It should be 248mm x 86mm for 8Y series.
