Does anyone know the diameter of the sub that fits in an 18” space saver?
I have a b&o sub, an 18” space saver (Audi) and it doesn’t fit.

did they make a bigger one perhaps for newer s3/Rs3 that had 19s?
Thanks!

Lgooch- Quattro makes a difference??

Not sure. Read somewhere that the rear diff encroaches on the spare wheel well and that’s why S3 didn’t come with a spare wheel. Therefore this sub you have might have come from an s3 and the sub is dropped into a polystyrene holder which sits in a slimmer wheel well. I.e. not in a space saver wheel. Audi may have made them a larger diameter to compensate for the shallower hole in which it goes.

Need someone with an s3 and b and O to ask them.

Either that or ring Audi and give them the part number and ask what cars it fits

For clarity mine is out of a 2017 FL black edition sport back

I don’t think that’s a b&o sub. PSS is a different company to b&o. If you look at the other pics here with b&o the name is embossed in the plastics. Yours doesn’t.

That’s not correct. My s3 with b&o came with a spare. The Quattro cars don’t get the extended level in the boot floor cause of the rear diff. Newer gpf cars didn’t get the spare for some strange reason probably to reduce cost or emissions.

I knew if was something different with the s3. Thanks for clarifying

The sub diameter at the top is 45cm on my FL S3 Sportback with B&O and has a spacesaver wheel. As others have said, it should have Bang & Olufsen embossed on the top per other pics in the thread.

According to the thread below, subs for the Audi Sound System (at least the early ones) were made by PSS, and the 2012 subs don’t fit into 2015 cars:

@toaophil:
do you have an A3 or S3?
If an A3 is it Quattro or FWD?
what year is your car?
Did it come with B&O and this sub or are you retrofitting / acquired the sub separately?

Mine is an S3 Quattro 64 plate but as the garage keep telling me ( back in for a stretches chain!!!?) it’s a cross over year. What difference that makes I don’t know!
Thanks for this everyone.
So I obviously don’t have a B&O sub. But I wonder if the connection is the same- if I risk buying one way off eBay??

There’s no reason an eBay second hand sub won’t work. Speaker normally has 2 wires, positive and negative. If the previous owner butchered the wires/plug to get the non b&o in and working then you might need a new plug or get creative with spade connectors or soldering iron.
pull the plug and get a picture. I’m sure we can confirm if it’s right.

Thanks mate, will do.
So the question is, does the pss and b&o sub have the same connecting plug
