Tracking our new RS3?

I get that, but he hasn't yet renewed for the first time since the car was first taxed so I don't know how it would work exactly. That's why I'm assuming he'll only get the basic back since that's what the new owner will be paying until the car is a year old and then pay both since the £40k premium only applies from year two onwards?

Potentially a good point But I did think the £40k RT was for 1st 5 and included in year 1…maybe not

It's something that you wouldn't normally think about because, generally, you keep a car at least a year! The text on the VED website says:

"Vehicles with a list price of more than £40,000

You have to pay an extra £335 a year if you have a car or motorhome with a ‘list price’ (the published price before any discounts) of more than £40,000. You do not have to pay this if you have a zero emission vehicle.

You only have to pay this rate for 5 years (from the second time the vehicle is taxed)."

It's that 'from the second time the vehicle is taxed' (i.e. after it's a year old) that makes me think the way I do about the amount he'll get back.

Someone else had commented on my Facebook post saying their car is also built and on its way to the port! I think we are starting to see a lot of movement :yahoo: :yahoo::yahoo:

You are probably spot on there @Daggerit. Even I have always managed to keep a car at least a year .

Does seem as though LE are “on their way”. They were always going to be the 1st ones built…unsurprisingly, and those who managed to secure one are very lucky and smug I am sure

yeah I’m not sure what I’d go for if Daytona wasn’t available. I know it’s a main stream colour & common but thankfully I’ve never had it on a car so it’s new to me. Why they’ve dropped sepang & floret (& many others) is very frustrating, especially if Audi are intentionally putting out a bland limited choice to encourage people to pay for exclusive. But then again they quote an extra 6 months which will put many punters off, so I’m not sure what the logic is ?

Lights do make a big difference for sure & I’ll bet whoever’s bought them will be very happy. The front & rear lights on the new RS3 do look pretty cool too don’t they.
No nardo either, foo kin scandal for us primer lovers!

TX.

God knows how you Guys managed to secure Launch Editions ?
Most of the Dealers have said no chance and many of them not even getting a launch edition full stop.
So no demo or showroom cars for some Dealers and those of you getting a LE are very fortunate to have a Dealer sell you one under these circumstances.

One of the Porsche Blues...Mexico,Riviera or Club Blue
I think you'll be better off waiting and going exclusive personally. The extra 6 months will be worth it. I don't like turbo blue personally. Just not one of the better blues we've seen on performance Audis E.g Sepang, sprint nogaro etc etc

Unless some dealerships were allocated more than one so are selling some?

From what I have heard dealerships are not allowed to sell launch edition cars until they have had them in there showrooms for at least 6 months asked many dealers about this and seems to be true so don't know how these chaps have managed to secure them unless they work for audi ? :fearscream:

we need to see some pictures!!! esp in that Kaylami green, has your dealer got another LE car available in a saloon preferably ? :tearsofjoy:
Haha as soon as it arrives it’ll be everywhere I’m sure. I got very lucky tbh, when I ordered the Vorsprung I made it very aware I wanted a launch edition if possible, fast forward a couple of weeks to the start of September the guy text me asking if I wanted one and gave me a list of what was still available to choose.

I’ve never used them but that does a rather unpleasant experience. At least you didn’t have to drop much in the end albeit unwanted agro ! So that’s it then car-less for a ‘while’ now.

Powerfull Car less for a good while l forecast lol l had to clear the TTS finance to complete the order of the RS3

TT was in showroom condition well more so to my standards of condition shall we say when he inspected it....drove it 2 miles to WBAC first time I'd driven it for over 2 weeks its sounded awesome lol short term honeymoon over...roll on the 5 pot...as you'd say...lol

well at least you didn’t lose anything on the TTS and it’s a tick in a box you can say you’ve had one ... like me with my Merc lol.

let’s see how things play out on the new cars. Hopefully the dealers will get some soon and we can at least see them & maybe even get a test drive. That will at least give us a sample of things to come.

It's a wonder Audi didn't offer to have it off you,
they matched my best offer and gave me a hassle free sale no tyre kicking, they just kept the money towards the rs.

No l didnt lose any money at all l gained £6k profit and got my full £9k deposit back as well so add them both together l have only £3k to put towards the RS3 then add in the sale of the tail lights.....making my RS3 the cheapest monthly payment to date...the TTS deposit was mostly made up of the so called profit l made off the sale of my S3 Saloon....how ironic....all because of hysteria run by governments aka lockdowns i'd rather prefer that hadn't happened but at least something positive came from it

I think it depends on the Audi Dealer type. I was offered a LE two days before launch as my dealer had 3 to allocate. Didn't take them up on it but one was available for me.

l agree with you on Turbo....but if l am honest it suits the RS3 better than on the TT.....Mythos/Daytona/Floret being more suited to the TT's sculpted exterior....the majority of the RS3's body panels are broken up with a black gloss....front end defo reqiures PPF....i'll wait and see how things progress in the next 3/4 months......i'd rather have a later built car than be one of the first.....should be interesting on how reliable these cars turn out

I just saw a Turbo S3 a few hours ago and really don’t like it. Looks flat and I really don’t think it does the lines any justice. Granted it had the silver bits rather than black, but I don’t think that would make enough of a difference for me.

That’s matched up the same as what I was quoted £1770 incl vat.

What happens if it gets scuffed…? Another £1800 to remove and refit?

A respray is what, £500 say? So that’s £500 vs £3600 to get the paintwork fixed again after a scratch…?

What am I missing?

Whats the spec of the Panic buyers editions lol
Same as vorsprung less heads up display, 360 cam & power boot.
it comes with Matt black alloys instead of graphic and has red brake callipers.

Yeah I did. I genuinely like Daytona, although there are other colours I’d potentially have chosen over it if they’d been available. I had it on an A4 a few years ago and the flake in it is amazing.
