Hi all,
I own my A3 for about 1,5 months now, that seems like a nice occasion to share an update!
The first few day's after collection i did my first mod, a somewhat unusual chrome-delete in bright color Plastidip.
The body color being Daytona Grey and all emblems in Daytona Yellow inspired me for a nickname: "Daytonian" (let me know if you like it)
I posted pic's of that In this thread.

After the car came back from the wrapper for a PPF i removed the rear wiper and installed my dashcam and subwoofer of my previous car.

Then there was one thing that bothered me a bit...
In the center console (around the gear selector) i have this piano black trim, i was worried about scratching it, so i decided to wrap this myself (first try ever) in 3M Matrix Black which is a hexagon textured wrap.
I also fitted the aliexpress storage trim thingy which i like very much.

And finally last weekend my new wheels and Maxton splitter arrived so i fitted those.

The only thing left to do (at least for now) is lower it on ST coilovers, i ordered them, should take about 8weeks to arrive.

Enough blabla, picture time!

For those of you interested in PPF, here is a video the wrapper made:

As for the dashcam, i promised @auzzam_crd to share a few tips.
For the sticky pad for the dashcam support i did a wet-application (like window tint) to avoid air bubbles visible for the outside (be careful, this means it is a VERY light tack at first, i waited a few days before attaching the dashcam to it, otherwise it would fall off immediatly)
The cables are quite easy, just push it under roof and pillar trim.
The trim on the side of the dash pops out very easy so you can pull the cable through like that (i'll share some elsa files to show you how it is done)
i chose not to hardwire it, but just route the cable all the way and plug in the cigarette lighter.

The wrap on the centre console is very nicely done :thumbs up:

Hi
How did you manage to get the repair manual ? when I go to Erwin Audi for this model, it does not show it.
You need to pay for access, only registering is not enough..
I believe it's 7€ for 1 hour and 30€ for 1 day.
Once you have that, you can go into 'vehicle-specific information', enter your VIN number, and then you can access all elsa files with printing authorisation (then print to PDF)

Hi Sigi_dr
Thanks for your reply, I was reluctant to pay the money when I could only see the 1 repair manual but not the internal and external manuals that I wanted. I always thought that it showed you everything you can get (but not download) before you pay.

Exactly the same doubt i had!
But then one day i wanted to see how to do a few things, so i took the 1hour access.
I then raced against the clock to save as much as possible (mostly removal of interior trim like A-pillar, centre console, ...) but 1hour is not enough to take everything...
So if you need one of those you can allways ask me what you need, maybe i have the PDF...

But anyways, once you pay you have everything, the complete elsa is there, and i believe etka too if i'm not mistaken.

Great job bro! Looks awesome - you're making me miss my Daytona grey :)

Looking great @Sigi_dr. Can't wait for my Daytona to turn up now!

Two questions on the interior bits you've added...
- Did you buy the central console wrap in the correct shape or cut the 3M yourself?
- I'm having trouble finding that storage box for a RHD, do you have the link from AliExpress so I can check if the store has one?

Cheers

The storage box doesn't exist yet for RHD, I've been searching for months!

I ended up disassembling the centre console to wrap it, i tried cutting it in the correct shape and then applying the wrap but not a great succes so i decided to re-do it...
For the storage box, i don't think it is available for RHD (the market may be too small)
The seller i bought it from has removed the item from their store (which often happens on aliexpress) so i can't post a link.

Thanks @Sigi_dr , good insight on doing the centre console job. I'll be doing that for sure.

Shame about the storage box - looks great in yours.

If you (or anyone else) want to look at the elsa files on how to remove that panel, just ask me.
Even with them in front of me i struggled at first, it's fairly easy but just a little scary as you need to pull quite hard

I would be grateful if you could let me have a look at the 'elsa' files on how to remove the centre console panel.
I actually paid my €8.40 and got absolutely nowhere!
Like many others have commented you have done a fine job with the hexagon wrap.

What do you mean you got absolutely nowhere?
Did not work or you couldn't find what you needed before the time limit ended?

I think this is what you want, if not send a photo of what you want to remove and i will see if i have the file

grtz

Thanks for the attachments
Couldn't find what I needed.

So, it's been a while, i've been too busy at work to post here...

The A3 is lowered for quite some time now, i set the coilovers at about -7cm i think.. (can't go any lower on the st coilovers)

I also have good news for those who ordered their car without the 'storage pack' but would like the little storage compartment next to the steering wheel!
I just picked mine up from the dealer, cost me 43€ and is plug and play.
For LHD the order number is "8Y1863084A 4PK"

Pic's below!

Is good to hear we can order the little storage compartment separately.
I am keep looking one for the RHD version, ebay and aliexpress only selling the LHD one:concern:

You mean a RHD version of the thingy in the centre? I suppose they fear that market being too small, or maybe they just haven't thought about it...

Speaking of aliexpress, i also bought a replacement for the handle bar, to put my sunglasses (i totally forgot about that )

i mean both the little storage compartment from the "storage pack" and the centre split thing. My A3 is right hand drive and can't find any interior accessory or parts for my car yet...

Wonder anyone know the part no for the RHD storage compartment

I'm assuming you mean this thing:

1644592982663

It's not part of a storage pack from AUDI, it's just something someone has 3D printed, but only seem to do them for LHD drive cars. I've been searching for months!! Cannot get a RHD anywhere.

Sorry to jump on I have the same thoughts about the centre console getting scratched especially with me and my dogs
I have ordered this it's cut to size hopefully it's easy . it's just clear £18 ish for all

Time for an update, been busy this weekend!
A while ago i ordered a diffuser from maxton, and bought a second hand golf gti rear silencer, so i could finally get rid of thd fake exhaust trim!

Fitting the maxton was pretty straight forward, clips in like the original.
Except for the clips around the cutout for the tailpipes, for some reason they don't lock into place, so i put a screw through the clip (on the inside of the bumper, completely invisible)

Fitting the gti exhaust was less easy, the pipe is much bigger (65mm, original is 55mm) and the tailpipes aren't long enough.
As a temporary solution i managed to cut off the end pieces and using a screw fixed them further on to the pipe (i was a bit worried about melting the diffuser, the pipe ended halfway the diffuser)

Now searching for some end pieces, i've got my mind set on some but they seem hard to find so... Hopefully updating soon

Hi, has anyone found a source for the RHD version of this item yet ?
