On another note, what’s the name of the jubilee clips you’ve used as I’ve seen them before but can’t recall the make?

Yes!!!!! That’s that’s the kiddies

Very good clamps.
Don’t lose tension even after heat cycles like regular jubilee clamps do.

I had them on my R35 GTR which had a built 1100hp engine but totally forgot the name of them as it’s was several years back

They open back up tomorrow and are reverting the PCW mod as it’s far to loud with both. Aoon says it’s the loudest RS3 he has ever heard (bang head, girlfriend will kill me!)
Interesting though that it is possible to get back to PFL asbo sound!

Another performance mod to tick off the list! 4” carbon Eventuri turbo elbow. The turbo elbow was something I never got round to doing to my FL 8V. With an extra inch bigger than the popular forge turbo elbow this should make a bit of a difference.

Is this specific to the 8Y? I know they were tweaking the whole kit slightly from the video I saw

Guessing they've not officially released this yet, not on the website or anything

it’s for the 8V. It fits the exact same on the 8Y

As a noob to rs3 tuning, what’s the benefit of this?

The intake pipes and turbo elbow on the 8v is probably one of the most popular mods for reasons as per the comment below, but also I think smooth to out the pipe work reducing any turbulence in the air (or something like that).

The stock turbo elbow has some indents inside from memory and then the intake hose has one of those ridged flex pipes.

T-1000 probably has a million photos of this!

Paul is a legend and can mod as much as you want, but as in Billy’s case, be careful what you wish for . Keeping the one side more standard means comfort isn’t too hectic

Best mod I did with the 4” hard pipe.

My WGDC was pretty maxed out on the standard / Unitronic elbows.

Fitting the 4” Revo items allowed a better flow and got me further gains.

As a general engine rule I'd say 'more air=more fuel=more power'. So allows for more tuning potential.

Whilst it would give more flow owing to larger size and so more peak power, Might it also lead to more lag tho?

I should probably do a bit of searching to find out rather than derail this thread but just interested…

Just my theory, but I doubt it. The actual volume increase that the turbo would need to fill to bring it up to pressure seems minimal in the scheme of things.

The cross sectional area is substantially larger though, and that’s why I’d have to assume you’d likely see the largest improvements in the higher RPM areas where pushing all that air through is more important to sustain power.

T-1000 can likely debunk this if I’m wrong.

You got an intake to marry up to the 4' elbow? won't fit the standard pipe/intake will it, Or you waiting on the full Eventuri kit coming. Excuse my ignorance, not had an Rs before until my upcoming 8y.

I’d imagine it would match up with the standard intake since the eventuri intake will match up to the standard elbow, so must work visa versa.

I’ve had a read and think I get it now.

The inlet is larger so it can flow more air to the turbo. I was concerned that it might choke out the turbo before it’s spooled up but I think that would be negligible and the overall improved flow benefits outweigh that in any case.

Carry on, ignore me

Good stuff.

My only concern with equipment like this is that it puts a hole in the midrange or something but I don’t know if that’s the case here or not. Not sure if Eventuri maybe have a dyno run to compare this versus stock?

From the reading I’ve done I would say not and should be marginally improved. Response to throttle maybe slightly inhibited but unlikely to a degree that would be noticeable.

Billy, are you considering fitting any wheel spacers? Just looking at all the pictures and angles of the new RS3 - the rear wheels do stick quite far in. I am trying to figure out the optimal setup mm-wise to keep an OEM look.

I think that piece is for the turbo inlet? the easier the turbo can be fed with air the less work it has to do and the more hp it 'should make'

Ideally the turbo inlet would be like a carb bell mouth but space is limited, like below

I will eventually, not looked into sizes yet

First mod I do to any car and the RS3 will be no different when it lands at the end of the month hopefully.

I've also got the Carbon Urus paddles and will hopefully get Eventuri's full system when released. Good taste Billy ;)

Yep, one of the best bang for buck mods you can do. Let us know what size you go for. My initial thoughts are you'd need to go slightly wider on the back.

Just pinged Steve Fraser and got a set reserved. Shame they are not in Matt Carbon, but i'll settle for gloss as they look classy!!

Easy mod and look great.
