Still exploring my rs3 and finding the mmi not the most intuitive vs previous car so far, although likely user error and I will adapt, but is there a way to configure the car so that I have a driver profile will ALL my settings allocated - ie so when I turn it on and select my profile, all settings automatically get loaded?

Eh, it starts in a certain driving mode with lane assist off, dials dissolution shown in the cockpit view and music from iPhone shown on the main display, for example?

Happy for this thread to also be a general tips thread relating to setting up the views/driver profile etc so feel free to add anything related as necessary for the benefit of all.

Many thanks.

A few on VWROC have managed to alter 'some' of the settings on Mk8R with VCDS/OBD eleven to 'remember last setting' not 100% succesfull as some are SFD protected I believe

Looks like there is a sound generator of some
Description at play.. seems quite natural though so not a big issue so far for me.

Having trouble “settings key user” in the car… just says “please wait” for ages but nothing happens a beyond that…..

Been waiting 5 mins so far but surely it shouldn’t be taking this long?!!

Definitely a artificial sound piped in to the Cabin to enhance lower speed driving but becomes more muted at higher speeds its a very clever and organic sound typical of Audi to get something correct l have said it all along even before the car was launched that it would have it...l enjoyed it in my TT

It seems to come from the rear so just sounds like exhaust noise tbh so works pretty well. It certainly seems to give a feeling of being louder than it likely actually is for the driver.

I’ve figured out how to change the view so the runway isn’t always there if you switch to an rs mode.

You go into brightness and settings and then configure one of the three modes and there is the option for it to be the default display.

I was trying to get it to work for the “sport”option with the dials but you can’t. Runway and the other mode you can though - I’ve switched it to the other mode so I have at least got rid of the runway!!

same here - I’ve gone for the traditional RS display though as wasn’t a fan of runway at all.

had a play with settings today so getting more familiar with it now.

I know there are a lot of complaints about the lack of interior design pack but every time I step into the cabin it does feel special & premium. The seats are just superb in feel, look & design.

Is there an option for central Rev counter with digital speed say in the centre of the rev counter? Not certain but seem to recall my RS4 had that.

TX.

It's a dour interior mate let's be honest no escape from it no matter how much tint is on them RS tinted Raybans...

Not like the 8V, but you can have speedo & Rev counter side by side

Haha tbh the tyres aren’t particularly inspiring of confidence in the cold and wet so will leave on for now. Needs some decent rubber at least during winter, may be better when the temps get up a tad perhaps.

Tbh when sat in it I haven’t found it too drab at all.

The silver accents help pick it up nicely, as does the led lighting. Has a classy feel to it.

Would like the red stitching on the seats but you can’t seem them when driving anyhow so would t make any difference really.

The red bits in the vents I can definitely do without - personally I think they look tacky so glad mine does t have those.

Would like the red strip on the steering wheel though.

Red 12 o clock ring n steering wheel would look odd as it’s not picking up with anything else. Would at least need red stitching as per the all alcantara wheel in the design pack. I wasn’t a fan of the red vents and seats, but it grew on me and as much as I agree that the interior is a classy place to be in, it does need a splash of colour IMO of course. I too found the seats VERY comfortable

as @Keano04 says, the interior does feel good & when you’re sat on the seats it’s only the steering wheel stitching you’d see in any case. The honeycomb pattern on the seats looks great (even better in red stitching I agree) but with the ambient lighting set to 2 colours that lifts things too.

I think when you have the car, the overall package will make you think less about the interior.

My Last 3 Audi's have had special interiors with the Whaoo factor....that is now a thing of the past ....as l have always said the 8Y 's interior is its achilles heel and the red/green stitching just smooths over the cracks

I’m being honest too and believe it or not I like it :tearsofjoy:
I’ve always liked the honeycomb pattern so that’s a big + for me.
Having had firm seats in the Merc, the look & feel of these & the grade of leather is top notch.
Steering wheel is way better than the Merc.
Ambient lighting is nice.
Contrast Red stitching would have finished it perfectly or even rock grey, but I’m happy with it and it’s not bugging me at all.

Nah I think it could work - there is a red rs logo on the sw so not much there but it wouldn’t be a random red belt.

Also I forgot to mention seat belts! The red stitching through them would be good.

You had the ttrs was it? I can’t recall?

I wasn’t a fan of the red bits on the interior pack with the 8v rs3 and funny that I thought the Tt interior was a tad ott, so just different expectations between us I recon bud.

But let’s not go down the route of pro/con interior chat again eh - that’s meant to be in the rs3 order thread

Unfortunately I can’t seem to mate.

61k and a lack of options in the interior is meaning I’m looking at other things.

Yup. Scandal though that on a 61k+ car we have to pay ££££’s on top

@Keano04 back to your OP. You can’t set lane assist to be off all the time. You have to turn it off every time you get in.

Yeah so I am seeing. Had a play with it today - at least there a button the stalk (was dark so didn’t see it last night) so not as much of a faff as it was initially (before I found the button)!

I’ve had a price of £90 per belt but plus fitting.

Will be day two of me playing with the mmi today - it’s dry so will make it easier to have a good poke around the car too.

If it’s like pre sense then it’ll activate every ignition cycle.

This is a copy/paste from the Golf 8R (VWROC) forum, hopefully the RS3 should be similar :)
As previous post for quick Lane Assist access. It can be permanently be coded to ‘remember last setting’ (off) using OBDeleven if you want to not have to use the stalk method each trip. There’s a thread in the OBDeleven section on that.

Here you go https://www.vwroc.com/forums/topic/40084-golf-mk8-r-lane-assist-to-remember-last-setting-coding/

Probably the best bet as OBD11 seem to have a SFD token arrangement with VW.

Be interesting to see if that applies to Audi modules though.

Everything I’ve read says it can’t be set to remember last setting.

I was assuming only the front belts tbh

Was your price for all 5 to be done?

Each Seatbelt colour change will be £50. Fitting service will be £150
Speak to Sam Spence and tell him Louie from Detail Devil recommend you
